Bazirella jälleen suosikki, ratanro: 60
Kauden toinen Grand National du Trot-osakilpailu juostaan Borelyn 1375 metrin mittaisella radalla
Välimeren rannalla Marseillessa. Yksi suosikeista tulee olemaan takamatkalta lähtevä Jean-Michel Baziren
taistelemaan voitosta. Paaluhevosista kannattaa huomioida viimeksi Caenissa ainoastaan Swedishmanille
hävinnyt 7 Sire de la Creuse ja tamma 8 Uka Normande on voittanut kaksi viimeistä starttiaan maakunnassa
helpommissa porukoissa.
Tamma 16 Sophie Vif hävisi viime startissaan Lavalissa ainoastaan hirmukunnossa olevalle Ustinof du
Vivierille. Varteenotettava sijoittuja on myös tamma 10 Tina Jolie, joka starttaa kolmannen kerran pienen
tauon jälkeen. Romuald Mouricen kolmikosta parhaat mahdollisuudet menestyä on 12 Slow Beauvoisinilla.
9 Totem d’Azur otti Cagnes-sur-Merin talvimeetingistä kaksi voittoa ja kakkossijaa.

2400 metriä volttilähetys
Takamatkalta starttaava ruotsalaisruuna 12 Super G. on ollut Ranskassa yhdessätoista montéstartissaan
seitsemän kertaa totossa. Viimeksi Pontchâteaussa Titane Nordiquen ylivoimaisesti voittamassa hevonen
sai tyytyä kolmanteen, mutta nyt matka on 400 metriä lyhyempi. Alexandre Abrivard on ratsastanut Super

unbeaten in two outings over course and distance with her amateur Marc Tardy. (12) ULK DE CESSEVIL acts

Race 7: Prix de Cavaillon – 2300m autostart – Harness race – 3yo – Grade C – 22.000€
1. COUPIGNY'S STAR - Winless but always in the shakeup out of 9 races. Seems to be at a slightly lower level
than some rivals. Badly placed behind the autostart
2. COEUR DE DYPP - Creditable winner on penultimate bid at Toulouse. Disqualified last time. Open to
improvement
3. CITY STAR - Broke at start last time in an A grade race. Interesting winner previously showing ability. A
place seems possible if he remains in trot
4. CYRANO DE BOUZI - Hasn't shown improvement since debut. Outpaced last time in an A grade race.
Doubtful form
5. COOL BE WILLIAMS - Impressive winner last time over 2600m on a right-handed track. Twice placed
previously. One to rely on
6. CYPRIN D'ERABLE - Eye-catching winner 2/3 and disqualified when leading the field. Must be highly
considered
7. CHANSON D'AMOUR - On the podium 4/7 since debut. Finished well last time at Toulouse. Choice of J.-P.
Dubois
8. CIRRUS DE BANVILLE - Off since December. Winner 2/2 on this track. Will try to redeem himself from his
last disqualification. Beware
9. COREANE D'ORJAS - Disqualified 2/2 lately. 2nd race after a lengthy break. Badly placed in the 2nd line
10. CELEBRITY DE GINAI - Disappointing 5th last time after 2 creditable places in January. Needs to improve
to be considered here
Summary
On his way to a 3rd win, (6) CYPRIN D'ERABLE has shown a lot of quality and logically gets the vote in this
autostart race over 2300m for 3yo, but (5) COOL BE WILLIAMS, who keeps on improving, is also worthy of a
fine result. After smashing debut, (8) CIRRUS DE BANVILLE is worth another try after his recent
disqualification, and (3) CITY STAR deserves some attention at this grade.
Selections: (6) CYPRIN D'ERABLE - (5) COOL BE WILLIAMS - (8) CIRRUS DE BANVILLE - (3) CITY STAR
Race 8: Prix des Caves Saint-Marc de Caromb – 2400m – Mounted – 5-10yo – Grade E – 23.000€
1. QUITE CHARMING - Swedish 6yo who makes mounted debut. Off since January after a modest 7th place
at Vincennes. Possible upsetter if he acts under saddle
2. SACASSOU - Winless and only 5 times placed under saddle. Mostly an amateur races runner. Takes a big
step up here
3. ULTRA SON FLOWER - 4th over C&D clearly beaten by (6) Veinard du Gite in October. Not better since.
Barefoot as usual
4. NELLE PRIDE - Swedish 7yo gelding. Has mounted credits in his country but disappointing in France since
December. A. Wiels booked for the occasion and barefoot
5. TON CAPRI D'EMMA - Decent runner-up lately preceding (10) Saxo de Jefma and (11) Sico Kiki de Ruca.
Good winner in January. Remains shod today
6. VEINARD DU GITE - Intermittent though talented. The fastest over C&D (1'14''7). Acts better when
barefoot like today
7. TOMBEUR DU NOYER - Impressive winner on penultimate bid then honourable 3rd last time. 3rd on his
sole run on this track. Shod as usual
8. VAGABOND DE MAIL - Back under saddle and barefoot today. Front runner with serious credits at a
higher level. Good entry and Ph. Masschaele booked
9. TORONTO DOEDVIC - Disqualified 4/4 under saddle. Lacklustre performances at harness even barefoot.
Best watched despite his entry
10. SAXO DE JEFMA - 2nd S. Guelpa's charge. Shown a glimmer of form being 3rd last time in between two
today's rivals. Unconvincing previously when remaining shod
11. SICO KIKI DE RUCA - 3rd S. Guelpa's charge. Not convincing since a win on December 11th. Has never
recovered his summer 2012 form. Only unshod behind today
12. SUPER G. - Swedish 10yo almost always in the shakeup out of 11 French runs. Acts well under saddle
especially when barefoot. Beware
13. TESACO DU PONT - Hasn't raced under saddle since March 2013 and never better than 4th. Only won a
claimer in December since summer. Barefoot could help a little
14. ULEX GEDE - First time in a mounted race since February 2012 in a Group I. 3rd in another Group I
previously. Only has to trot to be in the shakeup at least
Summary
If he has not lost his mounted ability, (14) ULEX GEDE seems to be a logical favourite, having only raced at
Group level under the saddle. In case he disappoints, (8) VAGABOND DE MAIL should benefit from an
decent entry in the first starting line, while (12) SUPER G., who is the most reliable of the field, could
obviously be battling for the places with (6) VEINARD DU GITE, if he is willing to remain in trot.
Selections: (14) ULEX GEDE - (8) VAGABOND DE MAIL - (12) SUPER G. - (6) VEINARD DU GITE
