Standards Addressed: S7L4. Students will examine the dependence of organisms on one another and their environments. a.

Demonstrate that in a food web that matter is transferred from one organism to another and can be recycled between organisms and their environments. b.

Recognize that changes in environmental conditions can affect the survival of both individuals and entire species. e. Describe the characteristics of Earth’s major terrestrial biomes (e.i. tropical rainforest, savannah, temperate, desert, taiga, tundra, and mountain) and the aquatic communities (i.e. freshwater, estuaries and marine).

Homework : Study vocabulary.

Tuesday 10/14:

Learning Target: I will describe the location of the Earth’s major terrestrial biomes: tundra, taiga, alpine( mountain), rainforest, temperate, tropical and savannah) and the aquatic communities: freshwater, marine and estuary.

Work Session: Work on Biome Map.

How students will be assessed: Exit Ticket, class discussion.

Homework: continue to work on vocabulary.

Wednesday: 10/15

Work Session: Continue to work on Biome Map and Biome graphic organizer depicting yearly rainfall, yearly average temperature, altitude, fauna and flora and major animal species.

How students will be assessed: Biome Map and Graphic organizer checked for participation grade

Monday 10/20.

Homework: Biome Vocabulary.

Thursday: 10/16
