This event is the qualification tournament for the 2015 Australian Schools team. To
obtain a copy of the Asian Schools Championships Policy please refer to the TBA web
site at www.tenpin.org.au
Format:
Stage 1 - Qualifying
All bowlers will bowl 10 games in one appearance in their nominated squad, changing lanes after each two game
block. The top 14 males and top 10 females based on scratch pinfall after qualifying will go through to Stage 2. Pinfall
will carry over.
The remainder of the field will then have handicap added to their stage 1 pinfall. The leading 8 bowlers will be awarded
prize money. Handicap will be 90% of 230. Winner will be decided on accumulated pinfall with handicap. There will
be no extra bowling for the graded consolation round – places will be awarded based on qualifying.
Stage 2 – Matchplay Final
The top 14 males will bowl an additional 13 games in matchplay format and the top 10 females will bowl an additional
9 games in matchplay format. The female final will commence when the males begin their 5th game.
Point System
In the matchplay section, bowlers will compete against each other scratch, highest pinfall winning each match. 20
points will be awarded for a win, 10 for a draw and 0 for a loss.

Stage 2 – Matchplay
Presentation:
Males check-in by 9.00am
Females check-in by 10.00am
9.30am top 14 males bowl 13 games of matchplay.
Females start when the males start their 5th game, top 10
females bowl 9 games of matchplay.

NOTE: Stage Two bowlers not checked in by 9.00am (males) and 10.00am (females) will be replaced by reserves
and forfeit their right to receive any Prize Fund.
Silver membership is required for all bowlers who wish to gain ranking points on the TBA National Rankings
Program. All bowlers wishing to receive rankings points are required to purchase their 2015 TBA membership
online prior to attending the event.
Registration Applications will be available at the Wyncity Bowl & Entertainment if required.
Squad listings will be updated on a regular basis via the TBA web site at www.tenpin.org.au.
A "Reserves" list will be shown on the web site where bowlers will be put if requesting a particular squad that is
currently full. TBA will add the bowler’s names and the squads they have requested to that list. The bowlers should
identify a second preference and will be added to that second preference squad as well.
Bowlers who have paid either the deposit or full payment will be coloured RED and their squads confirmed.
All other bowlers have until Friday December 12th 2014 to pay either the deposit or full payment to confirm their
spots. After that time, spots will be given to Reserves that have paid and requested a particular squad.
Rules:
1. This event is open to all 2015 TBA Registered Players who have not reached their 21rd birthday on the 1st January
2015. This event will be a nationally ranked tournament for Silver TBA Youth bowlers based upon the bowler’s
scratch scores. Bowlers outside of Stage 2 Matchplay Final will receive ranking points based on their qualifying
position. Any bowlers wishing to receive Ranking points will be required to produce proof of payment of their
2015 Silver membership at check-in.
2. Bowlers are required to check-in at the tournament room prior to the designated squad time each day of the
tournament. Bowling will commence after a short briefing.
3. TBA Rules and Regulations, including the Code of Conduct, shall apply at all times.
4. No Smoking is permitted whilst a bowler is participating in the event until either the end of the days play or the
bowler is eliminated from the event. Mobile phones must be switched off whilst bowling.
5. Any bowler wishing to leave the lanes during this tournament must first obtain the permission of the Tournament
Director or an event official.
6. Any protests must be lodged with the Tournament Director before the tournament prize fund is paid and then
confirmed in writing with Tournament Director or TBA within 48 hours of the completion of the tournament.
Dress Code:
7. All bowlers are requested to wear a collared shirt or bowling industry manufactured shirt. Males may wear long
pants or neat shorts. Females may wear slacks, shorts, skirts, 3/4 pants or skorts. No jeans, cargo pants, tracksuit
pants, T shirts, tank tops, or hats are to be worn whilst competing unless an exemption to the dress rules has
been sought from the Tournament Director.
8. Bowlers not checked in by the advertised time will be disqualified and will have no claim on any prize money.
9. Any ties for 14th place for males and 10th place for females after Stage 1 or for 1st place at the completion of the
Matchplay will be decided by a one game play off. If the tie still exists, it will be decided by a 9th and 10th frame
playoff. Any other ties in the 14 males or 10 females after matchplay or any paying consolation scores will share
the prize money of the tied positions.
10. Any errors in scoring must be advised to the Tournament Director before the Prize Fund distribution is made at
the end of the event. After that time all payouts will remain as presented.
