Dear Local area restaurants Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels invites you to help support the upcoming seventeenth
annual Ypsilanti Holiday Tour & Downtown Stroll, December 14th and 15th. This
exclusive weekend event provides participants a unique opportunity to tour local
landmarks and shop local businesses to support a worthwhile charity at the peak of the
Holiday season.
Over the years thousands of local residents attended this event to discover Ypsilanti's
beauty and charm. This year's highlights include tours of the Bowerbird Mongo shop
and loft, the high-flying Rocket Shop, a merry stopover at Mix Market and Materials
Unlimited. Music, food, and beverages are at each site. Guests may purchase our
traditional handcrafted holiday ornament featuring a local Ypsilanti landmark. This
year’s signature ornament showcases the beauty of the First United Methodist Church.
This year we are continuing the “Taste of Ypsilanti” and we would like to feature your
restaurant at one of the tour stops for the downtown stroll. Participating businesses will
have the opportunity to provide samples of their food to tour participants and potential
customers. Your business is being asked to provide hors d’oeuvres or desserts (finger
foods or small food items with vegetarian options being requested too) for
approximately 50 people. The value of all donations is tax deductible and Meals on
Wheels will provide a receipt for all donated food items in exchange for an invoice
received from your business.
Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels (YMOW) is a non-profit dedicated to providing hot meals to
homebound residents of eastern Washtenaw County. The meals we provide help our
client stay healthy while caring for themselves in their home. Our goal is to raise
$33,000 with this event, which will enable us to deliver over ten thousand meals during
a three month period.
Generous support from organizations and individuals is key to the success of this
event. As a member of the local community, we would like you to consider helping us
