BACKGROUND & FINGERPRINT CHECKS
FOR EDUCATION STUDENTS WITH SCHOOL-BASED
OBSERATION, FIELD, OR CLINCIAL EXPERIENCES
Any student participating in a school-based observation, field, or clinical placement MUST have a
background & fingerprint receipt on file with the School of Education prior to the start of the placement.
Students must meet the following requirements:
 Background checks should be completed 3 months prior to the start of the school-based placement.
 Provide a copy of a receipt from a qualified RESC Agency indicating that the background check has been
completed to the Office of Clinical Field Experiences prior to the start of the school-based placement. The
School of Education STRONGLY recommends that students complete this requirement at ACES, (the RESC
agency located in North Haven, CT.)
 Students MUST notify the Director of the Office of Clinical Field Experiences in advance of any potential
concerns that may arise from their background/fingerprint check.
 The School of Education will accept background checks for 3 years from the date of the receipt; however
