Research Topic: Ontology-based Service Reasoning with Context-Awareness
ABSTRACT
This research aims to find a well-defined context model that can demonstrate the
correlation between human beings and the environment. This research employs
ontology to describe the context and uses Web Ontology Language (OWL) as the
descriptive language of ontology, where the latter introduces more words and
renders them with semantics via its support of XML, RDF, and EDF Schema. The
context-aware engine must take into account changes in context. This research
reviews several literatures on inference engine in expert systems and adopts
case-based reasoning to solve the issue. The adoption of case-based reasoning has
advantages that it supports the reasoning of mobile contexts and it could be adjusted
by following the number of uses to improve its precision. A comparison is made with
the location-based context-aware system, and the result shows that the reasoning
employed by this research indeed surpasses that of the location-based
context-aware system.
