2.
3.
4.
Read the question carefully
Underline the quantity you need to calculate
Write down what the question has told you
Write down and re-arrange any equation (don’t forget the formula sheet at the front of the exam – look
for formula with what the question has told you!)
5. Put in numbers and check units
Mathematical questions – when using a graph
The 5 step plan
1.
2.
3.
4.
Read the question carefully
Underline the quantity you need to calculate
Use the graph to find the data you need to use
Write down and re-arrange any equation (don’t forget the formula sheet at the front of the exam – look
for formula with what the question has told you!)
5. Put in numbers and check units
On the next few pages are WAGOLL of how to use the 5 step plan and following that are some exam
questions to use. Practise using the CUSTARD approach with the 6 mark questions and use a separate piece
of paper to write your answers on. At the start of the 6 mark questions there is a WAGOLL to help you
model your answers on – the answers are at the back of the revision guide. Use these to mark your work
and identify WWW and EBI!
