Notes on completion
1.
Approval will be subject to the University’s need to retain a workforce with the required qualifications, skills and experience to honour
teaching and research commitments, to provide appropriate administrative and technical support, and to meet ongoing budgetary and
financial obligations set by the University.
2.
After considering the Estimate of Benefits, staff may express an interest in receiving an offer to accept a VSP.
3.
In calculating VSP payments only employment service with Federation University counts (this includes immediate prior continuous service
with FedUni predecessor institutions, specifically Monash University (Gippsland Campus). Note: As a general rule for VSP benefits, time
fraction will be calculated on the staff member’s average fraction over his/her last five years of service or his/her fraction at the date of
cessation of employment, whichever is the greater. It is not an average of time fractions over the entire period of employment.
4.
An offer of a VSP will be provided under the following terms —
 The Estimate of Benefits is based on entitlements that are believed to be true and correct.
 The University reserves the right to correct (alter) any errors that may be detected.
 Leave entitlements are projected to the notional termination date. Any leave not yet processed will need to be deducted from the
above entitlements prior to final payment.
