WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME FOR HET AND FET GRADUATES
The Wholesale and Retail sector is inviting companies within the wholesale and retail sector, to participate in the Graduate
Placement programme for HET and FET graduates.
Companies can source graduates with a wholesale and retail related qualification from ANY of the Public Further Education and
Training institutions (FET Colleges) and Public Higher Education and Training institutes (HET).
The qualification should address the absolute and relative Scarce Skills as per the SSP published on our website
(www.wrseta.org.za), which includes the following:







Retail Business Management
Food Technology
Supply chain Management
Logistics Management
Financial Accounting
Financial Management
Operations Management
W&RSETA will provide learner stipend at a rate of:

R3500.00 per month for a Graduate with Degree or HET Diploma, for a period of 12 months

R3000.00 per month for a N6 Qualified Graduate

R2500.00 per month for a Graduate with N4, N5 and N6 FET Record of Achievement, for the relevant required period as
per the Institution

GRADUATE PLACEMENT PROCESS

Employers should send a Letter of Intent to the W&RSETA by no later than 21 February 2014, indicating the following
o Number of graduates to host
o Type of Graduates – HET or FET
o Field of Study
Employers source their own HET and FET graduates
Employers must notify W&RSETA of their selection of graduates and submit the following documents:
o Completed Registration Form – DHET Requirement – Forms available on the W&RSETA website
o Graduates qualification certificate
o Copy of graduates ID
o Letter of appointment between Employer and Graduates
o Company Valid Tax Clearance Certificate – SARS requirement


PAYMENT STRUCTURE
The following criterion is applicable prior to any grants payments affected:

Contract signed between W&RSETA and Employer

Fully completed grant claim form – available on the W&RSETA website

Verification Report (1st tranche payment only) – Conducted by the W&RSETA

Quarterly Monitoring Report – Available on the W&RSETA website (not available for first tranche)

Implementation Plan and Outcomes – Available on the W&RSETA website

Proof of 3 months graduate allowance payments ( applicable for second tranche payment)
Learner Stipends will be paid into the Employer’s bank accounts. The payment will be in 4 tranches.
Closing Date for Letter of intent is 21st February 2014 to be submitted to Lebo Mphake at
lmphake@wrseta.org.za.

The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority is a public entity which was established to
address skills development within the Wholesale and Retail sector through the implementation of Learnerships,
disbursement of grants and monitoring of education and training. The W&RSETA aims to increase the level of
investment in education and training in the sector and to ensure the return on that investment. Our mission is to
develop a skilled and capable workforce in the Wholesale and Retail Sector, thereby contributing to the
sustainable socio-economic development and growth of the country.
