C. Daily Lesson Description
Total Length of unit: 4 lessons*
Lesson # 1 of 4. Title: Magical Muscular Strength and Endurance
1. Introductory activities: Intro to fitness unit- Warm up: Link Tag
2. Instructional core of lesson: Explain the importance of muscle strength and endurance and ask
students questions on what muscles are used in a sport? Ex: What major muscles are used in
basketball?
3. Culminating activity: Demonstrate and introduce game of “Crunch ‘N Score”. Pair up students with
1 partner.
4. Closure: Review the object of the lesson and why it’s important for muscle strength and endurance.
Then ask students for thumbs up/down if they liked the activity and record.

Lesson # 2 of 4. Title: Fancy Flexibility
1. Introductory activities: Introduce lesson and purpose. Warm up game: “As If” Teacher starts off
saying statements, then choose a student. Ex. “Swim as if you’re swimming through pudding”
2. Instructional core of lesson: Go over yoga stations and demonstrate each one. Then chose a
partner for each student.
3. Culminating activity: “Animal Yoga” Fill a sack full of stuffed animals, and have each student pick
out one animal and the class has to make the pose of that animal and hold it for 10 seconds.
4. Closure: Verbally discuss what the class thought and get a thumbs up/down and record.

Lesson # 3 of 4. Title: Crushin’ Cardio
1. Introductory activities: Intro to fitness unit- Warm up: Link Tag
2. Instructional core of lesson: Explain the importance of cardio and living a healthy lifestyle.
3. Culminating activity: Have students run a timed mile and record. Have students who cannot
participate do different exercises or walk.
4. Closure: Review the object of the lesson and why it’s important for cardio. Then ask students for
thumbs up/down if they liked the activity and record.
Total Length of unit: 4 lessons*
Lesson # 4 of 4. Title: Fitness Fanatics
1. Introductory activities: Warm up: “Late for School” Teacher will lead students.
2. Instructional core of lesson: Show students the different stations of the obstacle course and
demonstrate what each student will be doing.
3. Culminating activity: Different stations for students to complete the obstacle course. Choose 1
partner for each student.
4. Closure: Review the unit of fitness and why it’s important to incorporate it into our life styles. Ask
students if they will pay more attention to exercising more and staying healthy.
