SUBJECT: Restrict Junk Food Marketing in Oregon Schools!
Dear Chair Doherty and Members of the Committee,
I am writing to express my support for HB 3363, regarding restricting Junk Food
Marketing in schools.
I believe in healthy schools, healthy kids, and healthy communities. I am afraid
of what the obesity epidemic means for our kids and our future, and I think it's
important for the school system to provide consistently healthy food messages to
our kids.
Using strong nutrition standards in our cafeterias while still marketing junk food in
our classrooms, hallways and auditoriums undermines our efforts and wastes our
investments in Farm to School and other health and nutrition programs.
Please give your full support to HB 3363-3 this Friday.
