FUTURA Park Kraków with the BREEAM In- Use certificate
FUTURA Park Krakow gained the BREEAM In-Use certificate which confirms
that all pro-ecological solutions applied at the stage of designing were implemented
during construction and are now fully functioning and applied in project
administration. FUTURA Park Kraków is a modern retail park which combines
the FACTORY Outlet Centre with a traditional shopping centre. The facility has
been successfully operating since October 2011.
FUTURA Park Kraków is the second centre in Poland which received the prestigious
BREEAM certificate at the stage of designing. The originally designed “green
solutions” were fully implemented at the construction stage, what is confirmed by the
BREEAM In-Use certificate which was granted 2.5 years after the opening of the
centre.
BREEAM Auditors inspected 10 aspects of the facility: management, used materials,
transport, waste management, water and power consumption, pollution, health and
comfort, as well as the development of green areas and innovation.
High standards in terms of ecology are one of the essential conditions for the proper
functioning of our centres in Poland and abroad. Currently, 100% of outlet centres
managed by NEINVER Group in Europe are operating in accordance with the
requirements of the BREEAM In-Use “green certificates” - says Agata Brzezińska,
Country Manager Neinver Polska.
Ecological standards applied in FUTURA Park in Kraków are supposed to minimise or
eliminate the negative impact of the facility on the environment.
The structure is equipped with devices allowing for the recovery of energy from natural
sources. Due to large glazed surfaces, daylight is used to a maximum and the intensity
of light inside the building is regulated by a special system. Energy-efficient, LED
sources of lighting were used. Statement of energy performance of the building shows a
low demand for non-renewable primary energy.
Sanitary fittings with properly regulated water discharge time in toilets
and bathrooms allow for an efficient use of water in pissoirs, washbasins and showers.

All types of waste are segregated in accordance with the green standards. This refers to
the waste produced by the customers of the centre and by particular tenants. The
building is equipped with systems which aim at preventing, early detecting or
minimising any results of leaks of substances - water and chemical substances,
necessary for the operation of devices.
The air inside the building is also inspected regularly in terms of carbon dioxide content
and temperature in order to maintain the comfort of work and shopping.
The facility has a large share of green areas. Over 70 species of plants were planted
around the building, selected not only due to aesthetic reasons, but also in consideration
of the resistance to habitat conditions.
FUTURA Park in Kraków is an original concept developed by NEINVER, which is
based on the incorporation of the FACTORY Outlet centre and a traditional shopping
centre in one building. 42,000 m2 of retail space are occupied by shops of the most
popular Polish and international brands, in which the products are available at lower and
regular prices.
FUTURA Park Kraków is located near the popular Kraków ring road and
the national road no. 79. The facility has a large car park with 1,400 parking spaces.
Regular municipal public buses and special free buses can take the shoppers to
FUTURA Park. There are also bicycle racks available for the visitors.
