RULES
The competition will be carried out according to the UIPM Rules.
Swimming: 50m outdoor swimming pool / 8 lanes,
Fencing: 10 pistes
Combined Event: Laser precision targets will be used (CO2 and compressed air will be available);
combined surface Asphalt , sand & grass.
TRAINING
The Organising Committee will provide training facilities at your request.




Shooting: Air will be made at the place of competition. LPT targets Simpower will be used
Running: will be organized at the stadium area with tartan surface.
Swimming: in a 50 mts. long outdoor pool.
Equipment Control (fencing epees and suits, and shooting pistols) will be made in
the equipment control room at the official hotel.

ECONOMICAL CONDITIONS
In accordance with UIPM Rules, all participants (including athletes, coaches and officials) must
pay their own accommodation. Participants will be staying at the Sonesta Hotel (5 Stars),
address: 3 El-Tayaran Street, NasrCity, Cairo Egypt.

The cost for full board accommodation and meals per night is € 110.00 USD per person in
double or triple room, and € 130 per single room, (very few single rooms are available and first
pay first served policy will be adopted).
Total amount of accommodation and meal fee should be received by the LOC not later than
the March 01 2014, through Bank Transfer (SWIFT).
The accommodation price includes the accommodation, full board, accreditation for Competition,
and transport to and from Cairo Airport to official Hotel and facilities.
The number of officials to be registered cannot exceed two, according to UIPM Rules. Please
contact directly the Organising Committee to requests for additional officials and for family and
friends wishing to attend the World Cup.
ENTRY FORMS
For the World Cup Series, Final Entry Form C must be received at least 20 days before the
competition (March 10, 2014).
If we do not receive your Final Entry Form C prior to the deadline then we will consider your
delegation as non-participating.
Delegations are reminded of the new Rule 1.15.3
If on arrival for the competition, the team has less athletes and/or officials than listed on
their Final Entry Form and without informing the Organising Nation/LOC at least 7 days
prior to their arrival, the NF will pay a fine to the Organising Nation/LOC of 200 Euros for
each person less.
Following confirmation of the final entries, a NF must enter the competition with at least one
pentathlete. Any NF failing to take part after having sent their final entries will pay a fine of USD
$750 to UIPM.
We would appreciate early confirmation of your intention to participate or not and submit this as
Entry Form A.

ATHLETES’ LICENSES
Athletes are only allowed to participate in UIPM sanctioned events if they are in possession of a
valid UIPM issued Athletes License. Entry Forms will not be accepted if any athlete is missing
his/her License Number. Please contact immediately UIPM Headquarters if your athlete is missing
his/her License.
If an athlete does not have a license and has not requested a license from UIPM they will not be
allowed to take part in the competition.
You are reminded of new Rule 1.13:Pentathletes without riding ability listed on their License and without a letter from their NF
confirming their ability to ride:
- may compete at World Cup competitions in the qualifications for the Final, but if
they do qualify for the Final, they must relinquish their place to the next pentathlete
who has the ability to ride.
TRAINING
The LOC will offer training facilities for swimming and combined event.
EQUIPMENT CONTROL



The equipment control for fencing will be at the Hotel on the 1st of April, 2014

The control for the riding headgear will be at Hotel on the 1st of April. 2014
TRANSPORTATION PLAN
Transportation from the airport to the official hotel and the return journey is only guaranteed if
flight information is provided according to your Entry form, and according to the deadline on Entry
Form C. Transportation from the official hotel to the venue for athletes will be according to the
training and competition programme.
VISAS & VACCINATIONS
Visiting nations should confirm visa and vaccination requirements for entry into Egypt form B (the
passport should be valid at least till October 2014, you need to send the copies of
all the pages of the passports) and we will make the necessary request to the
Egyptian Immigration Authorities, Prior traveling to the event. The LOC cannot accept
responsibility for arranging visas but can provide specific letters of invitation if needed. For
information if you need a visa or vaccinations please contact Your nearest Embassy or Consulate.
The deadline for sending the documents for visa arrangements is January 21st 2014.
INSURANCE
All members of the attending Delegations must insure themselves in case of accidental injury or
illness. The organiser will not accept any responsibility financial or otherwise for loss, injury or
illness of any Delegation member.

FIREARMS
Firearms Licenses are a legal requirement when bringing either air, CO2 or Laser pistols into
Egypt for competition purposes.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All athletes are kindly requested to wear their official national uniform at the competition. Please
also bring a CD of your national anthem and a national flag (192*128cm).
