
Instructional technology was introduced to 5th -8th graders this year. This is 4th year of implementation.
Teachers are becoming more comfortable and weaving technology into the way kids’ learn and the focus is on
using technology effectively.

Successful implementation of Common Core is being targeted. Parent resources will be targeted and resources
will be available to parents.

Roosevelt Exterior Plan is still on the table. The District hopes that they will find a solution that will emphasize
children safety and ensuring that the solution looks long-term and also considers the larger community.

Lincoln School is at capacity currently and this will most likely mean additional classrooms being added at
Lincoln. Construction would not change footprint of Lincoln School rather the school would build up.

why this will need to happen.

Katarina offered up anybody calling she or other group members for information/assistance on green initiatives.

On October 8th there will be the Walk to School Day. This is also a national effort. Please try to walk or bike to
school.

Katarina mentioned the possibility of artificial turf being placed in Centennial Park. Park District has informally
approached D90 regarding some sort of partnership in making this happen. The Board has opened up
conversation for this issue but it’s non-committal at this point. Ed said that questions/concerns could be
presented to the Park District.

Julie Moeller talked composting. Roy Strom can now pick up commercial compost. They would provide each
school with ‘toters’ and pick up each Friday and drop off new ones. There is no cost for our schools at this time.
More quantity could be taken and it would decrease our waste. More information is forthcoming.
Pre-Pack School Supplies/School Store
Trina Bockus/Julia Potter

We sold about 200 boxes of pre-paid school supplies. We re-signed a contract with School Kids for next year.
The pick-up worked well in large gym.

School store was open every day first week of school. Julia felt it went well, however, coordination of gym
uniforms was problematic again. It might be a consideration to have some on hand in school store OR have
more explicit directions in Bulldog Bulletin or school announcement so that parents know what to do.

Assignment notebooks ran out early – Julia ordered 100 but kids still wanted them. New ones will arrive within
a couple of weeks. Resource teachers do want their kids to have them.
Spiritwear

Julia Potter
New line out and 8th grade t-shirts are the biggest seller. New full zip fleece is available.
Fall Fun Fest
Tania Wilson

Fall Fun Fest will be Friday October 19th, 6-9 pm. You can sign up on Sign Up Genius.

This is not a drop-off event. There will be a parent lounge. Please volunteer and spread the word.
