Notice to the candidates seeking admission for Ph.D program
in the department of Microbiology & Cell biology
1. The interviews for admission to the department specified as ‘MC’ in the application
form will be held in the department of Microbiology & Cell Biology.
2. On arrival please report in the lecture hall of the department of Microbiology & Cell
Biology (second floor, new biological science building), and sign the attendance
sheet.
3. There will be two interviews. The first interview for all the candidates will be held
on 2nd, 3rd and 4th June 2014 (according to the date indicated in your call letter). At
the end of each day, names of the candidates who will be required to attend the
second interview will be put up. The second interview may start from the afternoon
of 4th June and continue on 5th & 6th June, 2014.
4. Research areas of the faculty who are taking students will be displayed on the notice
board. More information about these is available on the departmental web site.
Candidates who are short-listed after the first interview are encouraged to meet the
faculty who are taking students. Faculty members will be available for discussion
after the interviews on each day.
5. Candidates appearing for the 2nd interview are required to submit the department
faculty option form, indicating the preference of the faculty members with whom they
wish to work. The option form must be returned to the department office on 6th
June by 1.30 p.m.
