Role Purpose

To act as driver foreman ensuring the fleet and vehicles in Hull and East
Riding are organised and effectively managed to service the Household
Waste Sites for the contract.

To drive the companies roll on / off vehicles in a professional and
competent manner and be courteous to other road users at all times.

To ensure that waste is transported effectively and according to company
policies and arrangements.

To liaise with the operational management to ensure the most cost
effective utilisation / operation of all the Groups transport is efficiently
utilised.
Key Responsibilities

Route planning.

Taking and receiving of calls from drivers, 3rd party disposal points and
Household Waste Recycling Centres to ensure efficient servicing.

Responsibility for the implementation of the Group Health and Safety
Policy in all vehicle / fleet-related activities.

You will be responsible for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken
within the company policies and procedures. This will include daily walk
around checks, vehicle defect reporting, daily defect nil returns.

Have an understanding of VOSA regulations in terms of vehicle safety,
graduated fixed penalties, and tachograph use for both digital and
analogue.

Operate within current EU / UK driver’s hours regulations which include
adequate daily rest and maximum weekly driving time.

You will be responsible for driving and operating trucks within an
appropriate manner which includes safe and secure loading practices,
safe driving and drive within the current UK speed limits for heavy goods
vehicles.

You must never knowingly overload your vehicle or operate it in an unsafe
condition.

You will be required to keep your vehicle clean and tidy at all times.

All drivers are expected to maintain on a daily basis records of loads,
vehicle movements, fuel, weight tickets, transfer notes and any other
paperwork as instructed by the management team. All paperwork must be
handed in to the management at the end of each shift.

You will be expected to report any mishaps or accidents however small
immediately or as a minimum at the earliest convenience to the
management team.
Qualifications and Experience

Must have an appropriate driving licence indicating entitlement for the
class of vehicle you are expected to drive.

Must have tachograph experience for both digital and analogue.

Must have 35 hours of Driver CPC.

Experience in waste management industry desirable.

Supervisor skills.
Personal Qualities

Ability to work collaboratively at site level in a capacity of adding value to
the decision making process.

Ability to re-evaluate priorities, responding quickly and positively to change
is imperative.

Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop
successful long term relationships with key stakeholders.

Must have a flexible personable approach with good people skills.

Must be a team player.
Other Information
You will be required to work weekends.
