History Paper Help (THE PAPER)
You have outlined your topic, created several sentences for each topic, and
now it’s time to write the paper.
**This outline format assumes the writer has three main points supporting
the thesis or argument. You may have more depending on your research.**
Definition of Terms:
Thesis: claim, central idea, or argument of the paper
Topic: A major argument or discussion point that supports the thesis
Subtopic: A part of a topic (major argument or discussion point). This will be
the main idea of the paragraph.
Supporting Detail: information, or quotes and explanations that further
explain Subtopics (may be more than 1 sentence each)
(?) Some subtopics may or may not need a third supporting detail
