FINAL HOLIDAYS HOME WORK
CLASS-IV
ENGLISH:
1) In your scrapbook cut and paste two newspaper articles & circle the punctuations used in it. (Refer
to Sports/Education/Business section of the newspaper for this task)

2) Write a story using the outline given below:
Ajmal-on the way to college-saw an accident-a car hit a scooter-car didn’t stop-man bleeding
profusely-no one helped-he took him in a taxi-reached hospital on time-saved his life-his family
thanked him.

3) Click pictures of yourself doing various activities at home showing your contribution in helping
your mother/father and paste them on a pastel sheet. Write three or four lines for each activity
saying why you like doing it.

4) Make a separate thin notebook and do twenty pages of cursive writing in it.

Oratory skill:
Students try to be avid reader during this summer vacation. This can be done with the help of your
parents. Tell your parents to judge how fluently you can speak in a minute.

MATHS:
 Make a multiplication grid and write even numbers with red colour and odd numbers with
blue colours. Take reference from page no. 28.

 Draw geometrical figures like square, rectangle, circle etc on a chart paper. (Roll no 22 to 43)
SOCIAL STUDIES:
Making models of land forms with clay:
Material required:A tray, different coloured modelling clay, pictures of different landforms, glue, sand, soil and grass.
Roll no 1 to 10:- To make a mountain range, press a long strip of clay into the tray. Form the strip into
peaks, some with pointed top and some with flat tops.
Roll no 11 to 20:- To make a volcano, push the clay into the tray to form a triangular peak and then
make a hole down its centre.
Roll no 21 to 30:- To make an island, press a small mound of clay into the tray to form either a round
or elongated shape. Then, fill the tray with some water.
Once the clay has dried, decorate the landforms with sand, soil or grass. These can be stuck to
the landforms using glue.
Roll no 31 onwards:- Create a model of India using clay. Use more clay to make the different physical
features of India. (the mountain, the plain, the plateaus, the desert and the coastal areas). Colour the
clay in suitable shades.
SCIENCE:
1. Make a project listing safety rules to be followed on the road, while playing, while swimming,
at home, handling fire or electrical equipments.
(Roll no 1 to 5)
2. Paste picture of different animals according to their habitat (i.e. terrestrial, aquatic, arboreal,
aerial, amphibian etc.) and list their characteristics.
(Roll no 6-10)
3. Make a list of animals those lay eggs and a list of animals those give birth to their young ones
and paste their picture (atleast 10-10 names each)

4. Make a model to show life cycle of butterfly.
(Roll no 16 to 20)
5. Make a chart showing various nutrients of a balance diet.
(Roll no 21 to 25)
6. Make a project on structure of teeth. And list tips for keeping teeth healthy and strong.

7. Make a project using your creativity to show different types of clothes.
