Selection criteria:
Combination of price, quality of services offered and delivery of service.
Note: ‘Tax will be withheld from all contractors for such procurement with a specified rate as per
“Article- 72” of the Afghanistan Income Tax Law, 2009. Seven percent (7%) of the gross amount will be
withheld if the contractor does not hold/submit a business license, and two percent (2%) will be
withheld if the contractor has/submits a business license. The withheld tax per the law will be remitted
to the Tax Office in the name of company”.

Details of Herbicide
Item: Post-Emergence Grass Herbicides for Soybeans and Spray Adjuvant in the
form of Crop Oil Concentrate
I.
Description: Post-Emergence Grass Herbicides for Soybeans
Any one of the following herbicides which contains one of the active ingredients
labeled for soybeans will be adequate:
1. sethoxydim –active ingredient
2. clethodim – active ingredient
3. quizalofop – active ingredient (Brand name is Assure II – DuPont)
4. fluazifop – active ingredient (Brand name is Fusillade - Syngenta)
Any of the above products must be accompanied on the herbicide container with a full
product label in English accurately describing the amount of active ingredient and the
rate to be applied on a per unit area basis either in acres and/or hectares.
Quantity: Quantity of herbicide required to treat 4,200 jeribs (840 hectares).
II.
Description: Crop Oil Concentrate
An herbicide adjuvant that enhances the ability of the herbicide to penetrate
and be absorbed by the annual grass weeds must also accompany this bid.
The crop oil concentrate must contain at least 80% oil, usually petroleum
based, and at least 15 % emulsifier. The estimated amount is 2,100 liters..
Quantity: Quantity of Crop Oil Concentrate to treat 4,200 jeribs (840 hectares).
Period of Delivery: May 1, 2014 to ASA Production Office in Mazar-e-Sharif,
Afghanistan
