PERSON SPECIFICATION
JOB TITLE:
Wellbeing and Independence Co-ordinator
SALARY:
£27,000pa
HOURS:
35 hours per week (Occasional evening & weekend work may
be required to support the individual needs of the clients and
service delivery)
LOCATION:
Stockport
REPORTS TO:
Operations Manager
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Hours and Location of Work
 Availability to days / hours as specified in the job description
 Availability to provide cover for colleagues within the Wellbeing and
Independence Network
 To work flexibly to be available to attend meetings / events and outside of normal
working hours
 Ability to work remotely from a variety of settings
Management
 At least 2 years experience in managing people and / or multi-disciplinary teams
to meet agreed targeted outcomes
 Experience in managing budgets
 Experience in managing other service providers that are contracted through
service level agreements
 Experience of working in partnership with organisations to deliver outcomes
 Experience of setting up new initiatives
Working with disadvantaged people
 Experience or knowledge of working with disadvantaged people in particular
Carers, Older People and people with disabilities
 Ability to assess and plan with clients

Evidence of an ability to make sound judgements and decisions on a day to day
basis
Experience of motivating people
A willingness to raise any concerns with regards to abuse or mistreatment
Ability to support clients on a 1:1 basis
Communication
 Ability to work with a range of organisations including delivery partners,
employers, private, voluntary and charitable organisations
 Excellent at negotiating skills and the ability to overcome barriers
 Experience in solving problems
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, professionals,
colleagues and partner organisations
 A range of IT skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint
 Ability to write and deliver presentations
 Ability to produce high quality reports, presentations and other documents /
literature
 Ability collect data and maintain accurate records
Other
 Experience of working to and achieving set targets
 Evidence of an ability to work using own initiative
 A professional appearance and presentation
 Awareness of and commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and willingness to
raise any concerns with management
 Implement best practice in safeguarding across all areas of the business,
demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding adults at risk and a willingness to
raise any concerns with management
 Positive commitment to further training and self development
 To have a good health and attendance record
 A current driving licence and use of a car for work
 Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act and in-house policies to take care of
your own health and safety and that of colleagues, clients and general public
Desirable Criteria
 Experience in managing a grant / spot purchasing framework
 Experience of working with older people, carers and people with disabilities
 Experience of supporting vulnerable people
 Experience of co-ordinating and facilitating meetings
 Experience of working in partnership with employers and a wide range of public,
private and voluntary organisations to the benefit of the clients that this service is
supporting
