Hamlet Final Project
You will be creating a presenting a final project over Hamlet. You will be presenting in class on
December 5.
1. Choose ONE of the following projects.
2. Create, construct, write, watch, etc. Whatever the project asks you to do.
3. Write a one page, typed (MLA format) summary of your project that includes the
following:
a. Why you chose the project
b. How you went about making the project; what you did to achieve the end result
c. An explanation of how your project relates to the Hamlet unit.
d. Any additional information needed to explain your project and/or research.
4. Bring the project to class and present it. Your presentation must include the following:
a. An introduction with your name your project.
b. An explanation of why you chose the project and how you went about creating it.
c. A conclusion (You may use your summaries).
d. The presentation must be at least 2 minutes long and less than 5 minutes.
5. The project must be clearly labeled with the project number.

Projects
1. Construct a model of the Globe Theatre.
2. Present illustrations and explanations of the fashions and clothes of the Medieval period.
3. Write a diary for Hamlet, Ophelia, or Polonius for the week of the play. Make sure it is
accurate to the timetable of the play.
4. Research food common to Elizabethan England. Write a cookbook containing at least 5
recipes. Find pictures or illustrations to go with your recipes.
5. Draw/construct a costume that might be worn during the play.
6. Write out, in play form, an alternate ending.
7. Create a children’s book about the play.
8. Watch The Lion King and write a paper in which you point out five major differences and
five major similarities to Hamlet. Add a final paragraph stating which movie you like the
best.
9. Watch any other Shakespeare movie or play. Write a summary of the story, analyze the
theme, and explain whether or not Shakespeare would have enjoyed the production.
10. Read another Shakespeare play. Write a summary of the story, analyze the theme, and
determine whether or not it would be popular today – why or why not?
11. List five lines from the play and illustrate each with original art.
12. Compose music and lyrics for a song about Hamlet. Record, video, or perform the
composition.
13. Create a playbill for Hamlet.
14. Make and present a puppet show that has to do with the play or a specific scene.
15. Write a sonnet about the play.
16. Write a soliloquy for EACH of the following characters: Horatio, Ophelia, Queen, and
Polonius
17. Prepare a front-page edition for the Denmark State Journal. Include some stories about
the events, feature stories, and perhaps interviews. This should be typed and look like a
small newspaper.
18. Some people believe that Shakespeare did not write these plays. Research and present
your information with documented proof. Information must be paraphrased/summarized,
and you must have a works cited page.
19. Do some research on the warning signs of suicide. Consider these signs and events of the
play. Discuss how the events are or are not consistent with these signs.
20. Create a timeline of all the events happening the week that Hamlet takes place.
21. Make a diagram or a model of a set that could be used in a production of Hamlet.
22. Create a playlist of at least ten songs that one of the characters might listen to. Make sure
to explain who the character is and why he/she would choose those songs.
