Paper Bag Speech
Purpose
Fill a paper lunch bag with objects and pictures that represent you. You will then write and
deliver a speech that describes these objects and pictures and why you chose them.
On the outside of your bag, you need to have pictures that show:


Your plans for the future
Your family and friends
On the inside of the bag, you need objects that symbolize:
 Your favorite things to do
 Your favorite memory
 Anything else that you want to share
The objects you choose should not be expensive or against school rules. If you have your heart
set on an object that cannot be put in the bag, then put a picture of the object in the bag.
This speech will be due on Friday,
August 22, 2013. You will have time to work on
this speech in class, but you may need to look for objects and practice what you are going to say
at home.
Work space
Make a list of the pictures you want to put on your bag.

On the lines below, start writing your opening. This should grab your audience’s attention and
make them very interested in what you have to say. Try not to start with something like “Hello
my name is… and I am going to talk to you about…”

On the lines below, start writing down what you want to say from the beginning. You can type
this if that would be easier. You may bring this up with you when you give your speech, but you
should not just read it. This speech is about you and who knows you better than you?!?
