‘Rethinking clinical perspectives: Becoming the questioning Psychologist for changing times’

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

The Conference Committee welcomes submissions from those who are aspiring Clinical

Psychologists including Trainees, Assistant Psychologists, Research Assistants, Support

Workers etc. We would welcome posters which address a broad range of topics within critical and community psychology.

We would like to see submissions of relevant case studies/series, research projects, theoretical models and how you may have applied these within different client groups.

The quality of the day depends on your submissions and we thank you for choosing this conference to present your work. All submissions will be reviewed by at least two members of the Pre-Qualification Group who have experience in the subject area.

DEADLINES FOR RECEIPT OF SUBMISSIONS

The deadline for all submissions to be received is Friday 27 th February.

You will receive the outcome of your submission 1 week of the submission deadline.

SUBMISSIONS

To submit an abstract please click on the following link and complete the form:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION OF SUBMISSIONS

Complete the author(s), affiliation and abstract details on the abstracts page for each submission

Title: (e.g. Formatting of papers for submission to the Conference)

Type: Poster or individual paper

Abstract Body: The abstract length will be 200- 250 words. Details for the different presentation modes are described in this document

Authors: Initials of first name(s) followed by surname(s) - Add first author into red highlighted box

 Authors’ place of work/study: (e.g. B Brown, University of Derby)

A. Posters

This form of presentation potentially provides a more intimate forum for informal discussion than the standard oral presentation.

Posters will need to be A0 or A1 in size

Posters will be displayed on the day of the conference and during all breaks. Presenters will be expected to ‘man’ their poster for at least half of the allocated time slot for breaks.

Length: Submissions should be up to a maximum of 200-250 words in length.

B. Individual Papers/ Symposia

Individual papers will be allocated a 10 minutes slot with 5 minutes for open discussion and questions.

Presenters will normally be expected to use PowerPoint. The deadline to receive your

PowerPoint presentation will be Monday 23 rd March. This is so your PowerPoint can be loaded onto the system to be included in the structure of the day.

Length of abstract: Submissions should be up to a maximum of 200-250 words in length.

All Submissions should include:

Objectives: State the primary objective of the paper and the major hypothesis tested

(if appropriate)

Design: Describe the design of the study and the rationale for the procedures adopted.

Methods: State the selection and number of participants, materials employed, and the procedures followed.

Results: State the analytic or evaluation strategies employed and the main results of the study. Numerical data should be included for Experimental Study submissions, but may be kept to a minimum in Development Paper and Case Study submissions

Conclusions: State the conclusions that can be drawn from the study, including theoretical, methodological, and/or applied/policy implications as appropriate.

Abstracts (including poster abstracts) that are submitted and accepted will be included in the conference pack.
