If you think you’re ready it’s almost time to go.

THOUGHTS OF HOME
When I was home in Scarlet-town, I had a single dream.
To sail away across the sea to lands I’d never seen.
I longed for new adventure, a life to call my own.
But I never thought I’d every leave home________
But as I stood beside the sea and watched the ships come in,
A captain offered me a chance that would not come again.
He said that I could join him to search for lands unknown,
And then I knew I had to leave home__________
But now I sometimes stand alone when all my work is done,
And Scarlet-town seems far away beyond the setting sun.
I’ve lived my new adventures; I’ve had my chance to roam.
I never thought I’d ever miss home_________
I wish that we were traveling home______________________

GRANDMA’S FEATHER BED
When I was a little bitty boy just up off the floor,
We used to go down to Grandma’s house ev’ry month end or so.
We’d have chicken pie and country ham ‘n’ homemade butter on the bread,
But the best darn thing about Grandma’s house was her great big feather bed.
It was nine feet high and six feet wide, soft as a downy chick (chirp chirp).
It was made from the feathers of forty ‘leven geese,
took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick (eeek eeek).
It’d hold eight kids ‘n’ four hound dogs and a piggy we stole from the shed (oink
oink)
We didn’t get much sleep but we had a lot on fun on Grandma’s feather bed.
After supper we’d sit around the fire, the old folks spit and chew,
Pa would talk about the farm and the war, And Granny’ sing a ballad or two (ooo).
I’d sit and listen and watch the fire till the cobwebs filled my head.
Next thing I’d know I’d wake up in the mornin’ in the middle of the old feather bed.
It was nine feet high and six feet wide, soft as a downy chick (chirp chirp).
It was made from the feathers of forty ‘leven geese,
took a whole bolt of cloth for the tick (eeek eeek)
It’d hold eight kids ‘n’ four hound dogs and a piggy we stole from the shed (oink
oink).

We didn’t get much sleep but we had a lot o fun on Grandma’s feather bed.
Well I love my Ma, I love my Pa, I love Granny and Grandpa too,
I been fishin’ with my uncle, I rassled with my cousin,
I even kissed Aunt Lou (oo!)
But if I ever had to make a choice, I guess it ought be said
That I’d trade ‘em all plus the gal down the road for Grandma’s feather bed.
I’d trade them all plus the gal down the road
SOLOIST: (Now maybe I should think twice ‘bout that gal down the road.)

I JUST CAN’T WAIT TO BE KING
I’m gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware!
I’ve never seen a king of beasts with quite so little hair.
I’m gonna be the main event, like no king was before.
I’m brushing up on looking down. I’m working on my ROAR.

Thus far a rather uninspiring thing.
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!
(wait)
No one saying “do this”,
No one saying “be there”,
No one saying “stop that”,
No one saying “see here”.
Free to run around all day,
Free to do it all my way!
(wait)
I think it’s time that you and I arranged a heart to heart.
Kings don’t need advice from little hornbills, for a start.
If this is where the monarchy is headed, COUNT ME OUT!
Out of service, out of Africa, I wouldn’t hang about.
This child is getting wildly out of wing!
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!
(wait)
Everybody look left,
Everybody look right,
Everywhere you look, I’m_ standing in the spotlight.
NOT YET!

Rosner, Siver, Garatina, Klein
Let’s hear it in the herd and on the wing.
It’s gonna be King Simba’s finest fling.
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king.
Oh, I just can’t wait to be king.
Oh, I just can’t wait,
Just can’t wait,
Just can’t wait to be king!
