TERMS AND CONDITIONS
General
1. These are the Terms & Conditions (“the T&Cs”) of The HDB Amazing Heartland Race 2013 (“the
Race”) organised by the Housing & Development Board (“HDB”) (also referred to herein as “the
Organisers”).
2. While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organisers to ensure the safety of the
participants, the Organisers shall not be held liable or responsible in respect of any deaths and
personal injuries that are not caused by the gross negligence or willful neglect of the Organisers
and their officials.
3. The Organisers shall not be liable or responsible for any damages, costs, and expenses incurred
by the participants during the course of the Race.
4. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel and postpone the date and time of the Race.
5. The Organisers reserve the right to change the venue of the Race.
Registration
6. Participants shall complete the official registration form found on the Race website to register
for the Race. Participants shall be deemed to have agreed to these T&Cs after they have
registered for the Race.
7. Participants shall be deemed to have received notices regarding the Race from the Organisers
after the notices are sent to their registered email addresses.
8. The Organisers reserve the right to decline entries to the Race.
9. The Organisers reserve the right to suspend or terminate a participant’s involvement in the Race
if the participant has provided false or incomplete information in his/her registration form.
10. Participants do not have to pay a registration fee to take part in the Race.
11. Participants who are below 18 years of age shall obtain parental or a guardian’s consent before
they are eligible to register for the Race.
12. Participants shall register under only one (1) category of the Race.
13. There will be no on-site registration on the day of the Race.
14. Participants may select their Race T-shirt size subject to its availability. No exchanges will be
allowed after a participant has selected his/her T-Shirt.
Race
15. Participants shall wear the Race T-shirt during the Race.
16. Participants shall complete the Race on foot or by public transport, i.e. by bus or mrt. Any
expense incurred for transportation during the Race shall be borne solely by the participants.
17. Participants shall not use wheeled devices that include but are not limited to jogging strollers,
walking strollers, roller skates, bicycles, scooters, and skateboards, during the Race.
18. Participants shall not accept assistance from third parties that include but are not limited to
friends, family members, and community members, to complete a task in the Race. The
Organisers reserve the right to penalise teams that accept such assistance.
19. Teams shall complete each Race challenge using various clues that will be given to them during
the Race. All team members shall check-in together at each pit stop to earn points at the
respective pit stops.
20. Teams shall complete the Race by 2.00pm and report back at the finishing line by 3.00pm.
Teams that do not complete the Race by 2.00pm shall also report back to the finishing line by
3.00pm.
21. The Organisers will not provide a baggage deposit on the day of the Race. As such, participants
are advised to bring minimal personal belongings on the day of the Race. The Organisers shall
not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage to a participant’s personal property.
Medical/Safety
22. Participants shall ensure that they are certified medically fit to participate in the Race. A
Participant shall retire from the Race immediately if certified as unfit by the Race’s official
medical team.
Race T-shirt Collection
23. Participants shall collect their Race T-shirts. Any member of a team may collect the Race T-shirts
on behalf of their team during the designated collection period. The details of the collection
period will be stated on the Race’s official website.
24. Participants shall produce the registration confirmation email and an official proof of identity to
collect their Race T-shirt.
