(The answers to points 3 to 6 should take up no more than a maximum of 6 pages.)
The application must comply with the following format requirements:
A4, left and right margins: 2.5cm, top and bottom margins: 2cm, font: Lucida Sans, font
size: 10, titles: bold. The given outline should be maintained and a sub-categorisation, e.g.
5. , 5.1, 5.1.1, etc. should be used. The text should be single spaced and justified. Lists of
references and/or publications can have a smaller format, for example using font size 8 or
9.
Required attachments to the application:

A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s supervisor (professor/lecturer or
research assistant with a teaching licence) and a statement guaranteeing that the
necessary working conditions, including material resources, are available (including
specification of the third-party-funded project into which the work in question has
been incorporated where applicable);

Applicants from subject areas other than Medicine additionally need to submit their
authorisation to complete doctoral studies in the Faculty of Medicine at Otto von
Guericke University of Magdeburg (Matriculation Application for Doctoral
Candidates or certificate of matriculation specifying a doctorate as the candidate’s
qualification objective);

Medical students also need to have matriculated as doctoral students in the Faculty
of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg by the time they receive
their doctoral scholarship at the latest (Matriculation Application for Doctoral
Candidates or certificate of matriculation specifying a doctorate as the candidate’s
target qualification);

Curriculum vitae in tabular form;

A copy of the applicant's last examination certificate (medical licensing
examination, German “Diplom” degree, Master’s degree, Bachelor degree, etc.);

A positive statement from the Ethics Commission for work carried out as part of
clinical studies;

An animal experiment licence in the case of work involving animal experiments;

If children’s allowance will be claimed copies of birth certificates of the own
children who have not completed the age of 12 years yet living in the same
household have to be submitted;
