United World Schools are looking for an ambitious graduate or current professional who is
seeking a role within a dynamic charity. The role is permanent and full-time and is suitable
for someone interested in working within the international development and education
sector.





Salary: £20,000-£25,000 per annum

Job Description
United World Schools is a growing international development charity that provides
education to children in remote and conflict-affected countries. We work in areas where
no meaningful education alternative currently exists; we teach the unreached. Since 2008
we have built 42 UWS Schools across Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal, providing education
to over 7,000 children. We are looking for a bright individual who is passionate about
education and keen to make a real difference to the lives of children around the world.
The role is full-time and permanent after the completion of a 6 month probationary period.
The successful applicant would join our small central team, working closely with the CEO
and the team of Directors on a number of high impact projects as we aim to reach our
target of educating 50,000 children by 2018. The role will have a key part to play in the
success of this ambitious goal through their support of the team. The role will involve both
collaborative and independent work as well as the leadership of specific projects, including
but not limited to:

Managing relationships with our Partner Schools

Volunteer recruitment, management and coordination

Impact data analysis, reporting and donor stewardship

Research and preparation of fundraising proposals

Supporting internal and external communication

Co-ordinating and support of key events

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an ambitious graduate or current professional, either (i) with experience
of or (ii) keen to develop a career in International Development and the non-profit sector.
Above all we are looking for someone who is passionate about education and understands
the impact it has on the lives and opportunities of children around the world. The successful
candidate will be someone able to work with autonomy and collaboratively within our core
team. As we work in remote areas pioneering new approaches to educational provision, it is
essential that candidates have a can-do attitude and positive approach.
Applicants should:

Be a University graduate with a relevant degree or a proven commitment to the
non-profit sector

Have a high standard of written and verbal English

Be a self-starter and highly motivated

Be versatile, happy to juggle multiple tasks and priorities

Be comfortable working in small teams or on their own
