The bios and resumes of the nominees received for this position would be circulated to
GSA Council, as submitted. As set out in GSA Policy, Nominating, Section 6.6, “the NoC
will provide Council with nominations for the GSA Board, all GSA standing committees,
Speaker, CRO, and Senator. Additional nominations may be made by Councillors, in
writing, in advance of the Council meeting where elections will take place. If a
Councillor(s) makes an additional nomination, there will be a written ballot at the
Council where the election will take place.”

BIO
I was born in Calgary and raised in Croatia. My mother is German and so I am fluent in
both German and English. After a BSc degree in Plant Science at UBC (2004), I studied at
the University of Leipzig and attained an MSc (2008). While at UBC I served on the
Students Council and was involved in intramural sports. While I did not engage in any
extra- curricular activities while at Leipizg, I travelled extensively in Europe. Here at the
U of A, I am a member of the Dance Club and have served as the grad rep on my
department council. I also volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

SUMMARY RESUME
I am now a third-year PhD student in the Department of XXX studying the effects of
sunlight on trees. I work in Dr Judo’s lab with an international team. Between my
undergraduate degree and my MSc, I worked as a researcher in British Columbia for the
provincial Forestry Service, returning to Alberta in 2008 to begin my PhD. I am currently
a PI for the XXXX course and volunteer at a local high school as a German tutor.
