DIVISION: Medical Centers DEPARTMENT: ________________________ BASIC NATURE OF POSITION: Responsible for prescribing, directing and administering psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, substance use or behavioral disorders in children, adolescents and adults. Responsible for supporting and collaborating with Behavioral Health Integration multi-disciplinary team, including the LCSW/BHI Coordinator, Psychologist and other professional staff to discuss and track treatment plans, progress and outcomes. 2. Ex: Ex: Non-Ex: Non-Ex: EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: A. Formal education required: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. PhD in Psychiatry. Board Eligible in Psychiatry. B. Experience/skills/ability required (number of years and type): Minimum of three (3) years psychiatric experience. Experience with pediatric, primary care and consultation-liaison psychiatry. Experience working with children, adults, families and underserved, transient populations and clinical co-morbidities. C. Specialized training and/or certification/license: State of Michigan Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance License and Drug Enforcement Administration Controlled Substance Registration Certificate 4. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Prescribe, direct and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, substance use or behavioral disorders in children, adolescents and adults. B. Support mental health care provided by LCSW/BHI Coordinator and psychologist. C. Support and collaborate with Behavioral Health Integration multi-disciplinary team, including the LCSW/BHI Coordinator, Psychologist and other professional staff to discuss and track treatment plans, progress and outcomes. D. Analyze and evaluate patient data and test or examine findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder. E. Provide regularly scheduled caseload consultation to LCSW/BHI Coordinator and Psychologist, focusing on patients new to treatment or not improving as expected. F. Make referrals for additional specialty mental health care when necessary and advise on treatment plans. G. Use EMR to document recommendations for treatment and/or referrals so that they can be easily shared with LCSW/BHI Coordinator, Psychologist and other treating providers. H. Ensure al protected health information (PHI) in local computer/networks is stored in compliance with HIPPA regulations as specified in the Provider Agreement. I. Delete all temporarily stored PHI promptly as soon as the information is no longer needed. J. Communicate to LCSW/BHI Coordinator and Psychologist the limitations of the consultation and treatment recommendations if you did not evaluate the client in person. K. Maintain professional cell phone and email accounts for contact during unusual business hours. L. Respond to telephone calls from LCSW/BHI Coordinator and Psychologist timely and to urgent calls within one hour, if available. M. Provide availability to other network consulting psychiatrists for vacation coverage. N. Participate (in-person or by telephone) in monthly Psychiatric Consultation meetings. O. Evaluate personally clients who present diagnostic or therapeutic challenges via telemedicine or at one of the health centers. P. Travel to all TWP sites and throughout the organization’s service area and the State. Q. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed. R. Adhere to corporate and departmental policies, practices and procedures. S.
