Position: Annual Giving & Donor Information Manager
Organization
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization established in 1991.
As the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research,
we work to eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors. We also provide educational
resources and emotional support for brain tumor survivors and their families.
Position Overview
The Annual Giving & Donor Information Manager is a full time position reporting to the National
Development Director. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the
annual giving campaign, all major gift prospect information management and ensuring the integrity of
the donor management database.
Key Responsibilities
General
 Develop and implement the annual giving campaign
 Manage information and actions for major gift prospects
 Support National Development Director in all areas to achieve goals
 Report on all gift and fundraising activity, including reports to National Development Director
and other Senior Staff
 Work with individual departments to create efficient information transfer
 Manage relationships with vendors: Blackbaud and print and fulfillment
 Work in concert with other staff members responsible for Convio and Financial Edge
 Any other duties as needed
Annual Giving and Major Gifts Program
 Develop and lead a comprehensive annual giving program, including strategies to incorporate
direct mail, e-campaigns, giving clubs, focus on new donors, donor retention, major gifts, and
increasing annual gift amounts of individual donors.
 Responsible for planning and implementing multiple direct mail appeals and newsletters,
including creating strategic messages based on donor segmentation, mail-house, mailing
schedule, theme, and artistic concept with the Marketing and Communications department.
 Evaluate every appeal and newsletter to develop analysis on past giving trends and program
results, and plan for messaging, market segmentation for future mailings and/or cultivation
activities.
 Plan and implement strategies to increase participation in the Matching Gift Program.
 Assists with the development of the annual giving and major gift budgets and monitoring related
expenses. Maintain complete and accurate records of all fundraising events and/or activities.


Oversee Moves Management and the supporter report, including but not limited to prospect
research on individuals to determine potential gift amounts and/or collaborative activities in
order to increase the annual fund and major gift program. Coordination of fundraising calls and
asks for CEO, Senior Team and Board of Directors and follow-up after each call and/or asks.
Support the National Development Director in developing and implementing a recruitment and
retention plan, for individual donors to further cultivate relationships and annual gifts.
Planned Giving Program
 Assists the National Development Director with the Planned Giving Program.
 In partnership with National Development Director track progress of pending planned gifts,
fulfill requests, produce correspondence, and encourage partial/early disbursement where
appropriate.
 Assist with development and dissemination of information related to tax credits and other tax
benefits for qualified individuals.
Data Management and Donor Acknowledgement
 Act as the system administrator for the donor management / volunteer database overseeing
daily operation ensuring the security, accuracy, and integrity of the data, including technology
management, and staff liaison with vendors.
 Works in partnership with members of the Finance department to complete monthly
reconciliations of all gifts entered into the donor management database and the accounting
database.
 Ensure thorough gift processing of all donations into the donor management database and
generate timely acknowledgment letters.
 Serve as back-up for the Resource Development Associate for all database needs in his/her
absence.
Qualifications









Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated record of accomplishment in annual fund development and implementation,
knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques, and direct mail appeals and major gift
prospecting.
Be a self-starter, with a proven ability to work independently.
Possess the ability to work well in an extremely fast paced, ever changing environment.
Be well organized, detail oriented, and have strong critical thinking skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, with competing demands, while maintaining a commitment
to excellence.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a specific ability to create donor
solicitations, thank you letters, and newsletter copy.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to create personal relationships and to
communicate effectively delivering exceptional customer service to a variety of stakeholders
(i.e. donors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff), both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in Raiser’s Edge and all Microsoft Office applications, specifically in the manipulation
of Excel spreadsheets and mail merges.
