ASPPH Resolution on Acceptance of an Offer of Financial Support
The following schools of public health and public health programs have signed onto the
ASPPH Resolution on Acceptance of an Offer of Financial Support. The resolution states
that members will not set an earlier response deadline to an offer of admission and/or
funding support than April 15 and that no program will pressure an applicant to make a
decision earlier than that date. While no institution can mandate that an applicant honor
a commitment to attend, most find that a consistent agreement regarding notification deadlines benefit the applicants who can
compare offers without undue pressure to decide early.
The resolution, which mirrors the Council on Graduate Schools resolution, requests that participating members adhere to the
following standards:


Admitted applicants are under no pressure to accept or decline an offer of admission with funding for fall
matriculation prior to April 15; earlier decision deadlines violate this agreement.
Any acceptance of an offer prior to April 15 may be withdrawn by the applicant.
