Intervention Expectations: Staff
Supervisors
COMMONS (Cafeteria)Staff members will:




Maintain an environment
which allows students to
study and visit with other
students
Keep students seated at a
table (limit the amount of
walking around)
Have students who are
scheduled to the
commons area sign in
Check out students
Academic Zone (Library)
Staff members will:





Provide specific student academic
support
Maintain a quiet work area for the
students
Stay in the designated support area
Sign the check-out sheet and return
the students to the commons or
assigned study hall
Take role of students in attendance
Small Study Hall (160)
Staff members will:





Work with the referring teacher to
help students complete the
assigned work
Aid in gathering and distributing
assignments
Take role of students in attendance
Not allow students to check out or
use electronics unless needed for
assignment completion
Keep the referring teacher
informed of progress
Assigned Study Hall
Staff members will:




Take attendance
Student checkout with
teacher approval only
Limit the use of
technology
Maintain an
environment which
ensures silent study
time
Referring Teacher (Note: If a student is earning or earned a D or F in a class, the teacher should have referred the student to one of the following.)

Sign in if they are scheduled to
the commons area
Be able to enter and leave the
commons area with-in reason
(staff discretion) if they have
release.
Be respectful to the staff and
other students in the
commons
Be seated at a table
Be able to study and/or visit at
tables
Be allowed to use electronic
devices responsibly
Be able to sign out to the
Academic Zone, Library, and
the Tiger’s Den with their
yellow check out sheet
***If a student violates any of the
above rules or school rules the
Commons PRIVILEGE may be taken
away and student will be placed in an
assigned study hall.
Academic Zone (Library)
Students will:







Come prepared with specific work
Ask clarifying questions
Work quietly
Stay in the designated support
area
Be respectful to the staff and
other students in the Academic
Zone
Sign out from the Commons or
Assigned Study Halls. Students
with release may stop in at any
time
Work to complete the assignment
***If a student violates any of the above
rules or continues to struggle with
assignment completion, they may be
referred to the Small Study Hall
Small Study Hall (160)
Students will:





Complete the assignment/s
which they were referred for
before returning to their
original placement
Come prepared with specific
work
Work quietly
Be respectful to the staff and
other students in the Small
Study Hall
NOT be allowed to use
electronic devices unless
needed for assignment
completion
*** If a student continues to
struggle in assignment completion,
the administration may deem it
necessary to make placement
change.
Assigned Study Hall
Students will:





Come prepared with student
work or reading
Work quietly
Check out to academic zone
with teacher approval only.
Be respectful to the staff and
other students in the
Assigned Study Hall
Electronic devices use with
teacher permission.
***If a student has earned their way
into good standing with the school as
deemed by the administration then
they may be given the Common’s
privilege.
