2010-2011 AWC Clubs and Organizations The Science Club- The Science Club serves and promotes science learning and experiences to AWC and NAU students on the AWC campus. We participate in a number of activities throughout the year including the Sustainability Fair, Family Night, counting trees and planting trees for the BLM as well as any other opportunities that may present themselves. In addition, we may conduct various fund raising projects which support special field trips to see and experience science away from Yuma. There is no special process for admission into the club. We typically meet every other Thursday throughout the year. Look for announcements posted via the Science list serve or on the walls of the AS or SR building. Contact: Radiologic Technology Club-The Arizona Western College Radiologic Technology Student Club is was established to maintain high standards of education and training; to elevate the quality of patient care; and to further the health and socioeconomic status of the Yuma and La Paz community by performing community service and supporting the educational efforts of future Radiologic Technologists. There are 1st year and 2nd year students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program .Club membership allows both groups to interact and work towards common goals. 2nd year students advise, support and assist new enrolled students through their first year clinical and academic experience. Students who are taking prerequisites, and identify Radiologic Technology as their intended major are eligible to join the Radiologic Technology Club. Contact: Randy Anderson he can be reached at rsa@toro.azwestern.edu The Main Campus AWC/NAU Rotaract Club- The AWC/NAU Rotaract Club is part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. All students are welcome to join us as we collaborate to serve the campus, the Yuma community, and our friends across the planet. Members of Rotaract have access to many of the resources and social connections of Rotary International, who provide us with support and advice. We hold formal meetings every other week to plan fund-raising, promote local charities, stimulate student involvement on campus, and plan parties! We definitely want to be a club were students can have fun, but the true purpose of our club is to have a provide opportunities for young men and women to learn leaderships skills and to discover the satisfaction that comes from serving others. Contact: Club S.O.T.E- Club S.O.T.E. is a volunteer, student-lead organization that falls under the direction of the K.E.Y.S. TRiO Student Support Services Program. Club S.O.T.E.'s function as a college leadership club here at AWC is to allow the participants of Student Support Services opportunities to learn, develop and grow as student leaders through planning, hosting and organizing a wide variety of events and activities, both on campus and the local community. Our primary goals are organizing field trips and cultural celebrations. We are planning a Spring Break Trip to Northern Arizona University and the Grand Canyon and several local trips as well. We will conduct several fund-raising activities throughout the year to support these efforts.
