Total:
Teachers in Clay County Public Schools receive a minimum of 24 hours of professional development annually.
Some of the activities are mandatory for all teachers; others will be determined by your individual professional
development needs. First, list the mandatory activities on your plan. Then determine what additional activities
you need to add. Base these decisions on data from your students, a self-assessment of your professional needs,
and Professional Growth Plan discussions with your principal. It is also recommended that you include more
than 24 hours in your plan to guard against unforeseen difficulties.
Your individual plan can be amended in two ways. First should additional school-wide needs arise, mandatory
professional development activities could be changed. Secondly, if your own professional needs should change,
you may submit an amendment request, in writing, to your principal.
I understand that as a teacher in Clay County Public Schools, I am required to attain 24 hours of professional
development. I will follow the plan outlined above to complete this professional expectation.
