ASCE Board Meeting – Minutes

I. Secretary – Curt Campbell, P.E.
 Review and approve the meeting minutes from October 6, 2011 Coy Armstrong
Motioned to approve minutes, Ty Turner Second. Approved
 Web master update – John Tyler
o Add Student Chapter Meeting info/dates Kara will forward info
o Update Officers. Officers have been updated – need picture from Amy
o Post minutes & treasurer’s report, send to Section Curt will forward minutes to
Elizabeth Greenwood at Section, Ty will send Treasurers Report
II. Treasurer – Ty Turner, P.E.
 Status of accounting software setup Everything is setup & running – Compass bank
changed to online. Still need to sort out name issues.
 Treasurer’s Report – Reviewed status based on Ty’s records (did not vote to approve –
waiting to verify with account information). Without Access Ty could not verify Bank
Statements at this time. John suggested that we look into changing our banking
provider, suggested credit union. Discussed looking into other banks/credit unions.
Ty will look into making a change next year.
 Status of Tax Preparation/Filing
 Auditing Committee for 2010-2011 – Steve, Ty, one other
 IRS report not turned in on time - $160.00 fee ($20.00 per day) – Ty sent letter
yesterday, will request a refund of fee, Steve will look back over records, Ty will
forward a copy of the IRS letter to Steve.
 Fundraiser for Centennial, Scholarships: Picnic, Raffle
III. Membership – Amy Stone, P.E.

 Student Liaison – Fernando Garcia-Ortiz – Sent Update
o Student Chapter Update

o EWB needs Mentors Summary given, They are looking for professional
advisors.

TSPE is doing a lunch, would offer ASCE member rate; Shauna suggested if we do
a Christmas dinner, also offer TSPE our member rate Shauna invited us to Join

 Alamo Heights college night OCT 24th 6:30-8:00 – ASCE had a booth, Mike
Bratten and Amy Craigo with JQ attended.
 Habitat for Humanity-Dec 3rd 2011, 7:45-3:30 - will need 10 volunteers.
It’s on a Saturday and during the fun part of the construction. Walls go up
and hands on. Lunch is provided and will take place at Old Pearsall Rd and
410 across from the Trader’s Village.

 Region 3,6,7 Leadership Conference – Sent registration form & fee by Oct. 31st, also sent
request for grant for registration fee reimbursement by Tx. Section. Conference dates
February 10-11, 2012, Kansas City, MO

John to send pic with tank top and flip flops at meeting in the snow.
