Our Interviews with Michael Gallagher and Henry
Wills by Shakira Size and Nora Keavney.
Henry Wills by Nora Keavney
I interviewed Henry Wills, a photographer for over
40 years. Here is my interview.
1. Whats the weirdest picture you have ever
taken? Gareth Fitzgeral wearing two
different while giving a speech. This photo
went national and you can find it if you
google it! Gareth didn’t even realise he had
two different shoes on at the time.
2. Where do you edit your Photos? I edit them
on a computer but in the old days I did it in
a dark room and had to wash, dry and
caption them for my editor.
3. Whats the hardest picture you have ever
taken? Places I didn’t want to be like
funerals and sad times were the hardest.
4. If you weren’t a photographer what would
you be? I would be a reporter or a teacher.
5. If I wanted to be a photographer what
would I want to be doing now? Practise,
practise and practise some more…. Take
photos of everything and delete the bad ones
– every good picture has ten more bad ones!
6. Who were the most famous people you have
met? There was Georgie Best, President
Reagan, Mary Robinson and Enda Kenny!
He also added that he was still friends with
his national school.
