Prescription Description:
Holistic treatments such as Healing Touch and Oriental Medicine can make a profound effect on
children’s’ well-being. Research continues to grow regarding the positive impact holistic therapies
create in pediatrics. This presentation will help participants understand that by administering and
treating pediatric patients with holistic therapies, such as Healing Touch, children can become
rooted into a holistic lifestyle. It will explain how using and teaching these treatments during the
formative years, children can be set on a path of holistic understanding of themselves and the
world around them.
Participants will learn useful ways to incorporate holistic treatments on pediatric patients. The
presentation will inform participants of the impact these therapies create. It will demonstrate by live
demonstration, video, or both, the ability children have to receive and apply these techniques. In
these demonstrations, one or more children will be aided in doing a self chakra connection. They

will also receive acupressure or tui na. Additionally, there will be video showing children meditating
and there experience with meditation.
Videoed interviews will show children and parental perspectives and personal experiences of
using these therapies on a regular basis. It will demonstrate how quickly children are able to
incorporate these treatment methods into their daily lives and through their own self care. Since
many participants have an interest or are trained in multiple modalities, it will offer insight of
productive ways to integrate several disciplines.
This presentation will have an interactive style. This style will allow participants to use the
techniques taught on themselves or the person seated next to them. It will allow for Q&A along
with additional feedback.
