EHS Morning Announcements: 11/04/15
Football:
Tickets for this Saturday’s Division I Playoff game between you EHS Pioneers and Olentangy will
go on sale today during student lunch periods. Any student or staff member interested in
taking an EHS spirit bus to the game, please stop down to the Athletic Department and sign up
ASAP. In order to provide a Spirit Bus to the game, the Athletic Department needs to know how
many students would be interested in school transportation.
Swim Team:
Attention students interested in joining swim team, there has been a change in the date of our
first practice. Our first practice will be held next Monday Nov 9th, not this Friday as originally
reported. We will be in the water, so plan to have your suit, googles, towel with you. Bus will be
at school near the Performing Arts Center at 5:45 and leave at 6:00 for the pool. As a reminder,
you must have a current physical on file in order to swim. Please stop in the Athletic Office if
you have any questions. Once again, practice begins next Monday.
NHS members:
Shirt orders are due by the end of the day tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 5th. Payment must be
received with order. Checks can be made payable to EHS. Additional order forms can be found
on the NHS Schoology page.
Attention those interested in participating in gymnastics this year.
There will be a mandatory student and family meeting on Saturday, November 7th from 11:30
a.m.-Noon. Athletes will then stay for an evaluation from Noon-1:30 p.m. Gymnastics
informational packets are available in the athletic office. Please be sure to stop in this week to
pick these up so completed paperwork can be brought to the Saturday’s meeting.
Bowling:
The 2nd session of tryouts for the EHS bowling team is scheduled for this Friday, November 6th.
If you did not attend Monday’s Tryouts, you need to attend tryouts this Friday to be considered
for this year’s team. The tryout will be held at the Brunswick Zone bowling center in North
Ridgeville at 3:30pm.
Attention to those planning on wrestling this year.
Official wrestling practice will begin on Monday, November 9th in the wrestling room after
school. Please be sure to have a completed physical and show up with workout gear.
Baseball from Coach Piazza:
Attention any baseball player who did not attend last week organizational meeting. Please go to
the athletic office to obtain and fill out your required paperwork.
Anime Club:
Anime Club congratulates the Halloween Party Cosplay Contest Winners! MARIAH, JACOB AND
ALEXIS! Winners, come to 125 for your 10-5-5! Friday a short meeting for Gundam planning is
slated.
Students Spreading Awareness for Animals:
Don't forget our very important meeting on Monday, November 9th at 2:45 in room 105. We
will have a guest speaker with a therapy dog, so don't miss it! Students: all are welcome to join
our club to BE THEIR VOICE!

Are you good at math? Mu Alpha Theta is the national MATH honor society. The Elyria High
School Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta is now accepting applications for membership. Ask your
math teacher for more information or come to the meeting in room 216 after school
tomorrow, Thursday, November 5th."
LEO Club:
Today's LEO Club meeting has been cancelled because of today's parent-teacher conferences.
Salute French club!
This Friday is a quick info meeting in room 209! We'll be talking about our November activity
and voting on a t-shirt design. If you have any questions please see Madame or any of your
officers. Hope to see you there!
Attention students:
If you have a study hall 2nd or 3rd period, report to your study hall on Monday, November 9th
to see a speaker from Badges for Bullies, a pit bull rescue group. Learn about the breed and
about dogs in general. See how you can help other dogs, or even how to care for and have fun
with your own dog.
