UNDP Somalia is looking for a SharePoint developer to be deployed on a short-term basis to
develop UNDP Somalia SharePoint tools on UNDP Somalia intranet. The successful candidate for
this assignment will play a leading role in development of the intranet using SharePoint
technologies (MOSS 2007). We are looking for an energetic, creative and quality-conscious
individual, with strong, enterprise-oriented website development/programming skills,
experience working in a cross-unit environment and excellent communications skills, online
writing, and training skills.
Expected Deliverables:
Function 1: Requirements Gathering and Specification
Capture user requests for custom SharePoint applications and templates
Review, analyze and prioritize the requirements based on business demand and overall
strategy
Compare requirements with existing third-party or internally developed solutions in
UNDP
Collaborate with stakeholders, the enterprise architect and internal and external
developers to design the best solution
Write specifications for custom applications
Assign work to outsourced developers and oversee the development and test process
Function 2: Quality Assurance
Design functional tests for new applications
Oversee testing and release management
Validate documentation
Initiate deployment via corporate change management process
Function 3: Communication
Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical team members, third-party
vendors and stakeholders
Develop clear and complete functional specifications, test plans and end user
documentation
Impact of Results
Successful delivery of intranet applications on the new corporate platform is the prerequisite for improved efficiency of business operations and enhanced effectiveness of
UNDP programs.
V. Competencies
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Architectures and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
2007
Proven experience with analyzing and documenting complex business processes
Proven experience interacting directly with end users
Experience with tools and methodologies for requirements gathering and modeling
Proven track record in Software Development for MOSS 2007
Excellent writing skills and experience with creating design documents, specifications and
test plans.
Experience with issue tracking and project management tools such as JIRA
Results orientated with good communication and interpersonal skills
Good understanding of business needs of a large decentralized intergovernmental
organization
Training and Documentation
Systematically document programming code and system technical descriptions
Provide training the to be recruited IFCC webmaster based in Djibouti
Provide a logbook/ site manual
