2015 Prairie Ridge Prom Guidelines
Dear Students and Parents:
As we near springtime, preparations for this year’s Prom are well underway, and we hope that
Prom is a memorable and special event in the life of our students. The following information is
provided to help families plan for the 2015 Prom.
Prom will be held at The Stonegate in Hoffman Estates on Friday, May 1st, 2015. Ticket cost is
$75 per person and will be on sale at Prairie Ridge Saturday, April 11th from 9:00-12:00 in the
front foyer. Anyone attending Prom must be under the age of 21. Any guest of a Prairie Ridge
student must have proper ID with them to verify their age. Once tickets have been purchased,
there will be no refunds. Bus assignments are made at the time of ticket purchase and no
changes are permitted.
All students and guests who attend the Prom are required to ride District 155 buses to and from
the site. No one using private transportation will be admitted. Please arrive at the school at 5:00
p.m., as the buses will load at 5:15 p.m. Please assemble in the North Gym by your bus number.
Parents can gather in the South Gym or outside in the lower parking lot to view the promenade.
Buses will return after the Prom at approximately 12:00 a.m.
Please be aware that all school rules and policies apply during this entire event, and that all prom
attendees may be subject to a search by PR administration. Specifically, District 155 policy
prohibits the use or possession of tobacco products, drugs or alcohol on school property or at
school events. Disciplinary actions for violations of school rules and policies are detailed in the
student handbook which can be found on the school’s website. If a violation of district policy
occurs during Prom, parents will be called to pick up the student at the Prom site. Additionally,
it is the responsibility of the students to comply with the PR “dance dress code” which can be
found on the pr website under links “For Students.” Students received emails about the dress
code, and fliers were posted in the school. There will be no money refunded if a violation occurs.
Please note that all students who attend Prom must be in attendance at school on Friday, May 1st,
from 7:25 a.m. through the early release time of 12:53 p.m. Students will not be allowed to leave
school early that day. If a student chooses to leave school early, they will not be allowed to
attend prom that evening. (Please do not schedule hair or nail appointments before 12:53pm.) If
a student is late to school, they will need to stay in the Dean’s office after 12:53pm to make up
the time in order to be eligible to attend prom.
We want the Prom to be a very enjoyable and safe evening. Please have a discussion with your
student and guest about demonstrating behavior and conduct of which we can all be proud.
Sincerely,
Steve Koch
Principal
