1. Travel Grant Presentations
a. Currently making arrangements to meet with the following mini-GSAs
i. Bioengineering
ii. Entomology
2. Mayor’s College Forum
a. Held on October 21st at City Hall. Next meeting is on November 5th at City Hall.
b. Discussed the Amazing College Race that will be held in April 2016.
i. Teams of 4-6. Up to 10 teams from UCR.
ii. Teams can win scholarships
3. Conference Travel Grant Committee
a. The committee meeting was on October 15th and attended by 7 graduate student
representatives, and myself. All approved items were approved by all members in
7:0 votes. The following changes were made.
i. Yearly funding cap was lowered to $1,000 per person for the 2015-16 fiscal
year.
ii. Regions were modified to the following:
1. West - California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New
Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana
2. Continental – All other states (Midwest, Eact Coast, AK,and HI),
Canada, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
3. International – Outside of the continent that you depart from and
return to.
4. Attendee - not presenting
iii. All regional maximum funding caps per travel were lowered 20% starting
for November travel, they are as follows:
1. Attendee - $80.00
2. West - $240.00
3. Continental - $320.00
4. International - $480.00
iv. One funding appeal was denied.
