This book introduces the way of life of the Ancient Egyptians. In the past, they
worshipped many gods, such as Osiris, Isis and Horus etc. They trusted these gods
would bring them great and long life.
Besides a variety of religion, Ancient Egyptians thought that when they died, their
bodies would go to another world to continue their life. So they would made
mummies. Although making mummies was very horrible and disgusting, but the
Ancient Egyptians thought that it was the mark of glory.
The Ancient Egyptians also built pyramids, these were the tombs of pharaohs. It
needed many people to build them, but it was the most famous attractions in Egypt.
I think this book is very interesting because the author can make the boring
histories turned into interesting. The author creates many games and some quizzes
for the readers, they can play and think. So this book is suitable for the children too. I
appreciate the author so much.
Some history books are the same at the textbooks that makes the readers feel
bored. However, the author said this book has something even the history teachers
don’t know. That attracts students and teachers become curious and want to know
what that is. The author successfully attracts many readers. Terry Deary was very
serious about writing history books. I appreciate him so much, I am looking forward
to read his other history books.
