1. Suppose you have to design an agent to play the game of Scrabble. Write a PEAS
specification for the agent and characterize the task environment according to the seven
relevant categories (list them first).
2. Can an environment be both known and unobservable? Give an example.
3. What is the distinction between a world state and a search tree node?
4. Discuss the relative strengths and weaknesses of breadth-first search vs. depth-first search
for AI problems.
5. Explain why it is a good heuristic to choose the variable that is most constrained but the
value that is least constraining in a CSP search.
6. Suppose you have an oracle that correctly predicts the opponent’s move in any state.
Using this, formulate the definition of a game as a single-agent search problem. Describe
an algorithm for finding the optimal move.
7. Consider the following game tree (MAX moves first):
a. Write down the minimax value of every non-terminal node next to that node.
b. How will the game proceed, assuming both players play optimally?
