The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Developer to be integral member of the
Electronic Research Administration (ERA) team, the Research Institute's primary resource for
providing tools and knowledge to facilitate electronic proposal, award and reporting processes.
This position will help build and maintain an electronic research administration application, while
interfacing with Investigators, Regulatory and Compliance Directors, Research Finance, and
Sponsored Projects Administration. Responsibilities also include enhancing the institution's ability
to remain fully compliant with regulatory requirements in an electronic environment, while
increasing staff productivity. The incumbent will ensure that appropriate technical guidance
documentation and training are available for investigators/program staff and administrative staff
to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities with regard to electronic research
administration.
1. Understand and comply with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies,
procedures and standards.
2. Support the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation
of systems that process, transmit, or store CHOP information.
3. Support all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare
accreditation standards, and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of
patient, financial, or other confidential information.
* Skills &
Qualifications:
1. BS or BA Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle and source code control
technology.
3. Working knowledge of research, healthcare data transactions, or IRB.
4. Minimum of 1-years maintenance support.
5. Good oral and written communication skills.
6. Ability to translate business requirements into technical design.
7. Experience with Huron/Click Commerce portal solutions highly preferred.
Technical Sills:
- Object Oriented, Multi-Thread/Tiered Programming
- .NET, C#, C++, JavaScript, JScript, Java
- MS SQL Server
- Strong HTML, XML, Ajax
- Web development scripting
- Experience with Microsoft development environment (Visual Studio, VSS, VSTS)
