A new, unique jewellery brand from Northern Europe - ANITA SONDORE
ANITA SONDORE is a distinguished, high quality, contemporary jewellery brand from the capital
of Northern Europe, Riga. ANITA SONDORE creates jewellery of the highest level of excellence,
using gemstones and metals of exquisite quality. The brand stands out in the marketplace due to
its particular signature look and approach. ANITA SONDORE accentuates the native wisdom of
the northerners, their closeness to nature, ecological thinking and cultural heritage, at the same
time, encasing it in contemporary design.
Talent and charisma is at the heart of the brand, but so is the distinguished Rome school of
jewellery. The brand’s creator developed her mastery over many years with the Ermini family, who
consider her to be one of the most unusual discoveries in recent years – a jeweller, a woman, who
not only designs her jewellery, but also actually makes it herself. ANITA SONDORE jewellery is
courageous; it’s made for exceptional personalities.
ANITA SONDORE announced her arrival with a collection of jewellery entitled SOUNDS OF
SILENCE, dedicated to the jewel of the north, Riga, which has a UNESCO cultural heritage listing.
And since the first collection she has also presented collections THE UNIVERSE, DEEP WATER
and MOVING LIGHT.
ANITA SONDORE is a true pin-up girl for the creative industries sector, for, gathering inspiration
from cultural heritage, new contemporary values are created.
The ANITA SONDORE brand has been created by jeweller, Anita Savicka who, given the general field of
jewellery making, has a rather engaging story. Women jewellery designers are still a rarity in the world
today. Jewellery making is Anita’s form of creative expression, but at its heart is the deep knowledge and
talent that runs in her blood for she is the granddaughter of an ironmonger. The brand is embellished with
the figure 1968, the year of her birth. This brand is a summation of her inspiration, talent, experience and
emotion. How interesting that for some time, Anita worked in the stone chip business by day, but at night
in her private workshop, she handled a different class of stones – diamonds, emeralds and tourmalines.
The time had come for her to announce herself in her true calling.
“My jewellery, in a fairly direct way, tells my own story – it’s a mirror of the time. They are personalities,
individuals, living, breathing, ringing, with an idea, with a message for the heart,” explains Anita.
“I am truly proud that I have succeeded in promoting and developing the flowering of such a brave and
talented artist and designer’s brand. I know that she has a great deal to say to the world,”
so says Pierpaolo Ermini one of Anita’s teachers, about her work.
The key message of the ANITA SONDORE brand is – the court painter. Since days past, court painters
have been those that have recorded important historical events, faces and moods. Today, ANITA
SONDORE continues to do this – but now with a woman’s hand, a significant marker of the time, for
previously, all events were documented by men. ANITA SONDORE presents today’s people, events,
faces and hearts. Her painting tools aren’t usual – in her pictures she carves, burns, turns metal, silver,
gold, amber and emeralds.
The SOUNDS OF SILENCE Collection
The source of inspiration for the collection is the phenomenal Art Nouveau architecture of Riga which,
due its richness and diversity has a UNESCO cultural heritage listing.
One of the most captivating features of Riga Art Nouveau is the so-called National Romanticism style.
The gifted architects of the time infused international architectural solutions with historical Latvian
ornamentation containing powerful signs from their ethnographic heritage.
Latvia and its capital Riga is one of the greenest places in the world. Its people still live in deep harmony
with nature. Latvian is one of the two surviving Baltic languages in the world. Due to its age, Latvian is
taught at the Sanskrit University in India. The codes of the ancient Latvian lifestyle remind us of a
necessity to be closer to nature and our true selves. Latvia is unique for its disproportionally large number
of talented women and can serve as an example for the growing world tendency to highlight the power
and creativity of women.
That is precisely what ANITA SONDORE wanted to achieve with her SOUNDS OF SILENCE collection.
To re-discover and take a look at one of Northern Europe’s richest cultural heritages from a new point of
view, and build on it, see it in a new light, through a different dimension, the creation of contemporary
jewellery.
“My mission is to look around and see a source of inspiration, something to develop, to build on, in
everything. I do this in this collection; I create the SOUNDS OF SILENCE collection to celebrate the pearl
of Northern European cities, Riga. Listen to; look into the very heart of Riga, its people. Look into their
eyes; caress her veins, her breath, her cheekbones and the curves of her body with your eyes. You’ll be
surprised how beautiful and rich her thousand year old melody is,”
says Anita referring to her source of inspiration.
The collection is based on Latvian ethnographic ornaments; however, this heritage is presented in a
different light, with different means of expression – unusual gemstones, precious metals. ANITA
SONDORE has endowed the already beautiful heritage with other, new traits, creating striking, unusual
forms and colour combinations. The collection uses gold, diamonds, tourmaline, moonstone and
amethysts. Furthermore, the SOUNDS OF SILENCE collection also uses elements like Mother of Pearl,
different coloured diamonds, enamel and rhodium. Each ring in engraved with a fine ANITA SONDORE
brand. Every piece of jewellery has been created with powerful energy, a message, created for strong,
creative, flowering people.

The MOVING LIGHT Collection
The inspiration for collection MOVING LIGHT is the ancient tradition of “eveningtime”, when during the
darkest month, a number of generations would gather together in the candlelight and fantastic works of
art would be created – embroidery, crochet and other finely crafted hand work, creating things that elicit
wonder to this very day.
“I, ANITA SONDORE, a present day court painter, catch all that is beautiful from the past, present and
future, and create a deep, unbelievably beautiful painting. I, ANITA SONDORE ask – what would it be like
if this tradition were still alive today? What kind of things would be created? What materials would we
work with, what kinds of things would a modern woman create?
MOVING LIGHT is my homage to the ancient tradition of “eveningtime”, the ethnographic heritage of
my homeland and traditional craftwork. It raises the questions of – who am I, where do I come from,
where does my beauty, lightness and light hide?”, says Anita.
The collection featuring large chandelier earrings, bracelets and sophisticated necklaces uses 18k gold
and diamonds.

FIRE STONE Collection
The beginning, passion, fire. Life itself. Hands dressed in Fire, formed in diamonds that dance on the
precious gemstones.
Everything and nothing. Beginning and eternity at the same time. The circle and the fire – the Sun is the
sign of all signs. Full of meaning in every folklore, magical, for the Latvians the Sun is the beginning of all
life from which each flower and leaf uncurls in the life of the earth. Burning, burning, foaming. A creative
explosion, passion, deep emotions.

The UNIVERSE Collection
The UNIVERSE collection is based on a single, sinuous shape. The ring tells the story of the beginning
of the universe that was a flash of energy that ignited life. The shape can be anything the wearer wants it
to be: a heart, a leaf, the Milky Way.
The UNIVERSE collection includes bracelets, earrings and necklaces, all handcrafted in 18k yellow, white
gold or sterling silver.

The DEEP WATER Collection
The DEEP WATER series is like a ripple of water that begins to tell a story. Earrings, rings, necklaces
and pendants set in 18k white or yellow gold or grey rhodium glitter with moonstones to mimic the
bubbles caused by waves in the ocean or river. DEEP WATER can be a moment frozen in time, like the
mist that settles over the ocean or frozen snowflakes that fall from the sky.
Sapphires, mountain crystals, onyx, topaz, rose and smoky quartz and citrines are also used in this
collection.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Anita Savicka was born in Preili, one of the oldest settlements in Latvia. Latvian is one of the two
surviving Baltic languages in the world, bringing together a deep harmony with nature. She is the
granddaughter of a blacksmith.
Anita is a graduate of the University of Latvia with a BA in visual and applied arts and technical drawing,
and has an MBA from the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration. Her
jewellery training started at the Auzers Jewellery Art Center in Riga, followed by gold smith classed at the
Ermini School of Jewellery in Rome and classes at the famed Van Cleef & Arpels atelier in Paris.
Anita founded her company, ANITA SONDORE, in 2013. ANITA SONDORE jewellery was highly praised
by US jewellery trade publications when it launched at the JA NY New Designer Gallery in July 2014, La
Art Show January 2015, JCK Las Vegas, May 2015 and will be carried in several fine jewellery and
specialty department stores in USA starting in 2015.
