PT Facilities Manager Position – Sheltering Wings Danville, IN
The Facility Manager is responsible for the maintenance and safety features of the physical
building of the shelter. The Facility Manager coordinates all building & grounds issues
related to daily, periodic, preventative maintenance, and security. Under the supervision of
the Executive Director, the Facility Manager coordinates capital improvements. The
Facility Manager completes maintenance and repair, conducts routine safety checks and
drills, and ensures all safety features of the shelter are in full working condition. The
Facility Manager ensures that SW is in compliance with all health, safety and fire
requirements. The Facility Manager creates and adheres to an annual budget. The Facility
Manager is expected to uphold both the vision and mission of Sheltering Wings.
Qualifications for the Position:
Required:






Experience working in residential facilities with prior building maintenance
management needed.
Demonstrated success in organizational, computer, written, and communication
skills.
Has a hands-on approach to problem solving and has inherent mechanical instincts
and skills necessary to perform and manage the maintenance of the 37,000 square
foot physical plant of Sheltering Wings and its surrounding properties.
Must be results oriented and is naturally prone to take the lead within the scope of
his responsibilities.
Constantly works at achieving a physical plant for Sheltering Wings characterized
by a facility that is clean, repaired, and fully operational at all times.
Has an eye for detail.
Preferred but not required:






Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working in public or social service organization
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or something similar
Knowledge of domestic violence related issues and philosophy
Understanding of the effects DV has on survivor’s thoughts and behaviors
Prior Crisis Intervention experience
Knowledge of city, state and federal domestic violence service systems, policies and issues
