GUIDELINES FOR FINAL CLASS ACTIVITY
The final paper is meant to be a 2 or 3-page reflective paper, in which you strive to describe, explain and
implement basic principles, guidelines, or approaches that EFL teachers need to take into account when working
with critical literacy in their classes. This means you need to choose, describe, and explain theoretical premises
and practical suggestions discussed in class to show how critical literacy can help EFL teachers and students
improve the foreign language learning process. This final paper needs to be clearly divided into three parts:
DESCRIPTION/CHARACTERIZATION (WHAT)
In this section, you describe and give details about the principles, guidelines or approaches you consider
important or necessary when using and implementing critical literacy in Colombian EFL classrooms.
EXPLANATION/JUSTIFICATION (WHY)
In this section, you explain why you think the previous principles, guidelines or approaches can help Colombian
EFL teachers and students better work with English in their classes. You need to use some academic or
theoretical reasons, arguments, purposes, and motives to validate your viewpoint.
(IMPLEMENTATION/APPLICATION (HOW)
In this section, you point out what specific activities, strategies, and materials EFL teachers and students can
use when implementing critical literacy in their classes.
