PREFACE
The entrance of Abhivyakti Foundation to the 10th years of establishment gives the feeling of
satisfaction and motivation for further growth of the organization. During these years, the
organization has evolved through various stages of growth. The gaps and learning’s played
important role in strengthening of the organization.
In the financial year 2009-2010, the year witnessed the progress especially in the expansion to
new operational area as we entered to new state Haryana for the Targeted Intervention
Programme under HIV/AIDS Programme. In addition, we were successful in conducting the
study on “HEALTH SEEKING BEHAVIOR” of women & children in Delhi.
At one end, we feel happy as the organization is able to increase the number of programmes and
activities as well as operational areas but on the other hand, we are quite concerned towards
maintaining the quality of programme implementation in different region of our interventions.
At this juncture, we express our gratitude and thanks to organizations and individuals for
sharing their support & contributions.
In this regard, we are grateful to government
organizations especially state AIDS control Society of Delhi & Haryana, NABARD, Central and
Delhi State Welfare Board, District Rural Development Agency, Haryana for imposing their
faith in us.
The successful execution of initiatives of Abhivyakti Foundation of the year was possible due to
diligence and commitment of team members involved in different programmes of the
organization. Therefore, we express our thanks to them and believe that they would continue
with us in same manner and pace in future also.
We believe that our current efforts and
initiatives would continue in the coming year also and will also gear for filling the gaps and meet
the challenges of the year 2010-11.

SUCCESS STORY

LIVE BETTER
TO
BETTERLIFE
LIFE
JALEBI, 52 years old woman was living in small town of Madhya Pradesh state. She was having
education up to the level of 3rd standard. In younger days, she was involved in collection of
money, from begging during the period of festival, ceremonies and marriages. During the
collection of money, she was harassed and exploited by police personnel. One day, she
decided to leave her town and go to Delhi. After reaching Delhi, she continued to engage
herself in collection of money. After leaving few months in Delhi, she happened to make link
with red light area of Delhi and involve in sex business. After being many years in sex business,
she decided to leave a better life which should be out of red light areas. In such situation, one
of pimp assisted her to get some place for residing in North West part of Delhi. Here, she
started a small grocery shop to meet her livelihood.
In 2008, she came in contact with Abhivyakti Foundation and expressed her interest to join for
working for the cause of HIV/AIDS. In this regard, she expressed her willingness to work as
peer educator, as proposed by us. Currently, she still continues to work as one of active peer
educator of HIV/AIDS intervention programme.
After working more than one and half years, we really appreciate her concern and motivation
as well as contribution to improve life situation of the community.

CONCLUSION
The successful completion of Nine years witnessed the efforts made for making betterment of
society. But we think that present rate of success may not be sufficient to make desire
changes in life situation of the community. There is need to intensify and expand our
programme interventions to reach more needy and poor people. In addition, we also need to
identify inter-related issues of existing programme. We look forward to have opening of
collaboration with PSACS in the coming year and other like- minded organizations. It also plan
to collaborate with Corporate in their Corporate Social Responsibility programme with it’s
presence in four states.
The Organization would also like to give opportunity to young generation to be part of it’s
endeavor in taking up social causes and be the change agent, IN TRUEST SPITIR as our Father
of the Nation, Ganhijee had urged to the millions to “BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO
SEE”.
