HSE specialist ready to work with and develop ISM procedures and related SOLAS, MARPOL and
statutory rules and regulations
THE COMPANY
A2SEA provides offshore wind transport, installation and service solutions at a wide variety of
locations. We specialize in providing the offshore wind industry with safer, sustainable, and more
cost-efficient operations − through know-how, seamless integration of installation and service
solutions, and quality of performance.
As a specialist in offshore wind, the company fulfills an important role in the offshore wind energy
supply chain with own vessels and crew boats. There are around 400 employees, of which 120 work
in office settings, while the remaining are maritime staff at all levels.
THE POSITION
As our future HSE Specialist you will be responsible for monitoring the safety and pollution aspects of
the operations of vessels and serves as a link between the company and those on board in ensuring
and improving the safety of ships operations. (ref. ISM code and related SOLAS, MARPOL and
statutory rules and regulations)
In your role as HSE Specialist you proactively promote and drive the implementation of HSE
excellence, while monitoring that work is planned and executed in line with the company’s fully
certified Safety Management System.
Main areas of responsibility:

Maintain, develop and implement relevant ISM/ISPS and HSE systems, tools and certificates
while acting as HSE Advisor on technical and operational manuals and instructions.

Communication with fleet management on and off shore and verification of lessons learned

Coordinate accident preventative initiatives

Evaluate training needs including coordination and conducting training on site.
ex. Risk management, safety related awareness & behaviour training

Report HSE performance and progress to Management

Analysis of and responding proactively to observations and suggestions received

Compile and report HSE KPIs to relevant stakeholders

Follow up on development of new rules and regulations
While you are monitoring the continuous improvement of our efforts ensuring compliance to the HSE
standards in the market, your role will be to proactively promote HSE on our vessels in our effort of
enhancing a robust and rigid Safety Culture within our organization. Expected travelling days per year
are between 20 and 60 and your personal onboarding will include several days at each working
station onshore and offshore.
You are expected to implement corrective actions in case the operation of the ships has been
observed or reported not to be in accordance with the ISM/ISPS code or national & international
laws.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate has several years of international experience with HSE at sea. You must have an
analytical view to complex work cases as well as the ability to make decisions in critical situations.
Good communication skills are expected, as you will have contact to many stakeholders and
employees onshore and offshore, and the ability to interact with all is critical.
