Core Professional Development: Early Release – up to 4x per month
available to focus on literacy strategies (e.g. reading workshop, Daily 5,
etc.)
Intervention Professional Development: Elementary Response to
Instruction Committee meetings, Student Support Team data reviews
and team meetings; District Interventionist available to present at
buildings’ Early Release meetings and is on call to provide support and
responses.
Assessment Professional Development: ER sessions available to
analyze assessment data and to review impact on instruction.
Administrators began PD with a book study on Driven by Data. Inbuilding grade level meetings provided support for data use. Summer
retreat focus will be on data use for instructional design.
Parent/Guardian Communication: Communication of student
achievement occurs through many avenues including: report card
information, newsletters from each school, district and school web
pages, Skyward data access, and parent conferences. A data dashboard
for each child which contains real-time data information is being
developed.
K-5 READING GOALS: May, 2012
Summative Goal: All students in grades K, 1, 2, 3*, 4, 5 will read on grade level at the end of each respective school year.
Grades K-2 will be measured using the end-of-year measures below
Grade 3: Students will pass the I-Read 3 exam
Grade 4, 5: Students will pass the ELA ISTEP+ exam and will read and comprehend at the designated lexile levels below.
NOTE: AIMSWEB scores will be set in May of the prior year and will not be changed in the fall to reflect latest national norms.
